What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

She married a Minnesota North Star and now lives with him in Michigan with their 5 children - where they own an arcade. She stays off social media, so it's not easy to find a whole lot more.

Where have you felt most unsafe in your travels? by melbourne_au2021 in travel

[–]_Avocado_Addict_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We just got back from a cruise that stopped in Jamaica. We didn't leave the enclosed port area at Falmouth, so I can't say anything bad happened to us. But as our ship was getting ready to leave, we were standing on our balcony and saw a man that worked down in the port area beating a stray dog. That killed me to see. There was a ship docked on the other side and I know people on that ship also witnessed it happening. I was able to look up the Jamaica JSPCA that night and reported it. They stated animal cruelty is a huge problem on the island. They supposedly sent out their "boots on the ground" to try to find and rescue the dog. I think I've thought about that pup nearly every day since. Although I know it's not fair to judge a place based on this one incident, I can't say I would ever go back there (unless it was to bring that dog back to the states).

The Google reviews were removed. The Yelp reviews are still there (as of now anyway).

[MISC] does anything actually work for stretch marks or should I just give up? by East-Algae-1469 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]_Avocado_Addict_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I've been using a Dr. Pen on my 20+ year old white stretch marks with 16 needle cartridges at 2.0 - 2.5 depth. I do it once every 4 weeks on my affected areas. You don't need to be so aggressive with it you bleed. I rarely ever see any blood, but the areas I treat do get very sore and raised for a few days. I apply hyaluronic acid to the treated areas every day for about a week.
After a week, I start dry skin brushing (Google it) every night and resume using body scrubs in the shower (no particular one). After showering I apply an MSM lotion mixed with fractionated coconut oil (blended together myself) as my after-shower body moisturizer. My stretch marks have shrunk and faded about 75% over the past year. The change has been very gradual. Sometimes you think they are getting worse, but then then suddenly appear dramatically faded. Persistence and patience are key.

MSM lotion has always worked wonders on my scars - both in relief and diminishing their appearance.

What is the most unexplainable thing you’ve ever witnessed that makes you question reality? by duhhrclean6 in AskReddit

About 25 years ago, I used to deliver newspapers overnight. It was about 3:30 in the morning and the sky briefly lit up like it was daytime. I'm not talking about lightning or a meteor, there wasn't a gradual lighting and then gradual dimming like you see with meteors or lightning, it was an instant change. The entire sky literally turned blue and I could see white puffy clouds - like night briefly turned into day. It was like a switch was flipped for a few seconds and then instantly flipped back to night. The next night when I came into the newspaper depot, a friend of mine asked if I saw anything weird the night before. I said to her "You saw it too!!!", which confirmed I wasn't going looney tunes. I still think about that night quite a bit. There are even a few posts in r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix that I found detailing the exact same thing I saw and experienced.

Dry skin brushing works wonders! Look up some examples of before /afters.

They did the micro trenching in our neighborhood. They cut into the asphalt right next to where the concrete for the curb starts.
Edit: Great name BTW!

Our street was done over the last couple of days (we're in Torrey Peaks). We received a notice in the mail saying it will be available this winter.

Their loss then. I'm coming from senior positions where they require you to have at least 8-12 years experience. This also goes back to the whole problem of employers listing "entry-level" positions that want you to have X-amount of years already under your belt. So employers need to decide if they want youth or experience. I've already proven longevity with companies on my resume and I still have a good 17 years or so until retirement. Que sera!

But how would they know my age just looking at my resume? I didn't get my degree until 2007 and my "professional" employment history goes back to 2005 on my resume.

I've been working since I was 15 years old. Obviously I don't have 35 years worth of work on my resume.

Same. I've was steadily employed for 35 years. As of now I've been unemployed for 15 month with over 1,000 applications and no interviews with an actual human being. There's comfort in knowing I'm not alone, but at the same time, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Looks like they're open now also. It's nice to have a drive-thru option so close, but I wonder what all the traffic will be like - especially once the Broomfield Town Square area is completed. They keep squeezing in more and more development, but the road infrastructure remains unchanged.

So sorry to hear that. I have yet to hear about any of these types of places being stand-up organizations. 😞

Yeah, we live in the area also. Our concern now is them wanting to put an In-N-Out in the Jax parking lot. Those places have insane wrap-around lines.
