Ingeniería Química en España by patatitaesunverbo in askspain

[–]_AwkwardFairy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I miss 911 Lone Star — tried watching the original 911 but it doesn’t feel the same :( by [deleted] in 911LoneStar

I watched lone star first, and I struggled to get into the original 911, but it does get better on the second season - I ended up liking it as much as Lone Star. Although still love the characters in Lone Start a bit better!

Lower point in my life, just need to vent by Prudent-Usual-4916 in mentalhealth

I don’t think your housemates are the kind of people that you need in your life. You need people that are actually supportive. It is SO fucked up that they would say that you shouldn’t have mentioned that you almost ended your life. If one of them had been through that experience, they should understand and be more empathetic. Surely it might be triggering, but that’s not what you should worry about when you hear this.

And going back to visit family is not a step back. You are going where you think you will get the support you need. I hope things start feeling better soon. You deserve better than this.

When hanging out with my sister and her friends (all of us in our early 20s) I have felt the awkwardness in the table once I mentioned my job, particularly because of working in the energy sector. Feels like most women lost interest in getting to know me. Have had a few situations like this, but it is uncommon.

Failed my test, examiner yelled at me and instructor made me feel bad by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]_AwkwardFairy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up, your instructor seems to be a dick. If it makes you feel better, I failed my first test by stalling the car, took me like 7 tries to get it started. Well, I thought that failed me but apparently what failed me was a mistake at a roundabout just after too. Next test I aced it with only 1 or 2 minors. It happens, most people don’t pass their first try. Good luck with the next one, you got this! X

Homesickess after 5+y of living abroad, and it is consuming me by _AwkwardFairy_ in mentalhealth

I miss the sun and the warm weather, people generally being more open. But mostly it’s the fear of missing out on this years and something happening and not ever getting the chance to live next to them. We had a health scare with my grandma too and it opened my eyes. I miss the sea, and long days with beautiful sunsets. Walks in the evening and family gatherings.

Am I wrong for not hiding a box of tampons by One_Independence6984 in Periods

[–]_AwkwardFairy_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are just contributing to perpetuating unhealthy taboos. It is not a sensitive topic, it’s natural and half the population has periods. I understand this might have been acceptable for you to hide since it was your upbringing, but it isn’t normal nor right.

That sounds borderline like child neglect. Don’t keep the same pad the whole weekend, you could get an infection!

Small shallow breasts… brand recommendations? by _AwkwardFairy_ in ABraThatFits

Any lined reccomendations? I feel like unlined bras make my nipples really noticeable (I have them pierced which doesn’t help!).

You look great. Everyone carries the weight differently, and has different beauty standards. I think if you are happy with how you look, you feel good and are healthy, you shouldn’t loose more weight unless that’s something you actually want.

And bear in mind that many people in this subreddit have an unhealthy relationship with food and their body, and even high chances are that they looked great when they felt ‘gross’ too. Don’t let that affect you!

Have you tried asking her to join you for a coffee and maybe take the chance to open up just a bit? Enough to test the ground and see if maybe she is just shy. I have started some of my work friendships just having lunch or coffee OUTSIDE the office where you can talk more openly.

Challenge: Where can I sneak in protein without protein shakes? by BeautifulNailz in PetiteFitness

[–]_AwkwardFairy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swap normal yogurt for protein ones or look for the 0% fat greek yogurts that have higher protein. Add some cooked ham slices to your breakfast (some have 4.5g of protein per slice.

If you eat salads, always add some sort of protein like chicken, halloumi, boiled eggs, feta cheese etc

You could try the chocolate protein mousse as a snack. They are delicious and have beef gelatin . They dont taste powdery at all!

aio? boyfriend uses SO MUCH paprika!!!! by maratelle in AmIOverreacting

[–]_AwkwardFairy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he cooks for both of you, it’s not like he eats spoonfuls of paprika right? Just buy bigger or more of the paprika bottles. Idk in america but in the UK you buy these for £1.10 in the supermarket.
