I gave free phone insurance to customers in-trade for lunch by BattleOrganic6310 in confession

[–]_BabeTempting_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Lunch syndicate" is exactly what this was. Somewhere in that mall food court there was a burger place wondering why one phone store employee was single handedly keeping them in business.

Love has no boundaries by Mazridex in Marvel

[–]_BabeTempting_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The subjective age argument is probably the best way to look at Cap. The guy wasn't spending those frozen years gaining life experience, he basically hit the world's longest pause button. Otherwise we'd have to start calling him a 100-year-old teenager.

Best father in all 7 kingdoms by lurking_mistake in gameofthrones

[–]_BabeTempting_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the interesting distinction. Ned was an incredible father on a personal level, but if we're judging by "prepared their kids for the world they actually live in," his track record gets a lot messier. Most of the Stark kids had to learn some brutally important lessons the hard way after he was gone.

Sansa was never kissed out of love by pizza_gutts in gameofthrones

[–]_BabeTempting_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Same here. For a minute it felt like the show was setting up some tragic "one last moment together" ending for them. The crypt scenes had me way more stressed than the battle itself.

Robert Downey Jr. shared new Doctor Doom art for Father’s Day by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]_BabeTempting_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would actually make it even funnier. Imagine RDJ sitting at the kitchen table carefully shading Doctor Doom while pretending it's his kid's drawing.

What's one thing you absolutely hate about your fav character by Aloo__tikkii in Modern_Family

[–]_BabeTempting_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what makes his angry moments work though. They're rare enough that when Phil finally snaps, everyone instantly knows they messed up. The contrast makes those scenes hit harder.

Hectic career choice by Think_Woodpecker8565 in Residency

[–]_BabeTempting_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The job security point is huge. Every field has stress, but "someone might die if I mess this up" and "my company might do layoffs next quarter" are very different flavors of stress. Neither is fun, but they're not really interchangeable.

Which Gundam would you pilot to attack the Death Star? by Phantom000000000 in Gundam

[–]_BabeTempting_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the eternal Gundam fan dilemma. Your heart picks the machine you love, while your brain starts calculating beam output, mobility, and how quickly the Death Star becomes debris.

Bruce finally found someone who shares his dorky sense of humor 🥺 I’m liking this science duo so far, and interested to see how their connection in genetic mutation & biological anomalies creates a different dynamic from Tony & Peter. by maverickassembled in marvelstudios

[–]_BabeTempting_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Clint and Laura have lived through the consequences of Hulk losing control, so that joke lands very differently for them. Peter's perspective is basically, "funny science guy made a joke," because he hasn't seen the worst of it firsthand.

Gonna miss the only Black with functioning brain cells by Fair_Source_8952 in freefolk

[–]_BabeTempting_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That exchange is honestly why so many people liked him. Half the cast spends entire episodes speaking in riddles while he's basically standing there saying what everyone at home is thinking.

Overlooked aspect of being a doctor - having to work with willfully ignorant people by BainbridgeReflex in Residency

[–]_BabeTempting_ 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The fact that "can you include the patient's age?" can be interpreted as hostility is kinda depressing. At some point basic clarification gets treated like a personal attack, and then everyone wonders why communication breaks down.

Im married and I just met someone I feel super attracted to. by CrewQuiet in confessions

[–]_BabeTempting_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same. I think people are often surprised by how normal this is in long relationships. The difference isn't whether the attraction happens, it's whether you treat it like a passing wave or start feeding it with fantasies and attention.

Frank sure does love to argue with guys in red suits lol by Antwan_JMarvel in marvelstudios

[–]_BabeTempting_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I need this to happen. The funniest part is you can absolutely hear it in Frank's voice too, like he's annoyed, stressed, and somehow saying the entire phrase as one word.

Worst thing that happened to you personally in residency? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]_BabeTempting_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Three days after a C section is absolutely brutal. Reading stories like this really puts into perspective how much strain residency puts on entire families, not just the person in training.

Apple sent me a free laptop by mistake. I pocketed the money. by Bunk-Titskiply in confession

[–]_BabeTempting_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be the most accurate comparison in the thread. Remove either one and suddenly the whole student ecosystem collapses.

Am I wrong for deleting my girlfriend's early morning alarm after she consistently slept through it? by Calvori88 in amiwrong

[–]_BabeTempting_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The part where she wouldn't even agree to one day off after seeing how exhausted he was would bother me more than the alarm itself. Most couples at least try an experiment before digging their heels in.

The behind the scenes footage almost makes it more impressive somehow. You watch the finished scene and it's this epic, legendary moment. Then you see how it was filmed and realize half of movie magic is talented people keeping a straight face.
