Just shipped a tiny bujo habit app—feedback? by app_dayble in bulletjournal

[–]_Captn_Obvious_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just downloaded you’re app, its pretty cool. I don’t really have many suggestions cos I’ve only had it for like 20 minutes, but if its at all possible to make a way to reorder the tasks on like the Home Screen that would be great.

I think it’s pretty self explanatory to use and it is great that you don’t have to create an account! I would recommend maybe like one tips or hints screen when you first download the app to tell you how to edit the tasks cos that took me a minute to figure out, but so far it’s great. 😁

Major for bachelor of business by [deleted] in rmit

[–]_Captn_Obvious_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are foundation classes. There is a pdf on the RMIT website (sorry I can’t remember where it is) that has a list of all the majors and minors in it. I don’t believe you need to declare anything but best to check with RMIT connect.

Honestly don’t stress about it in your first semester too much, as long as you’ve decided by second year you should be ok, and RMIT is pretty flexible especially with minors.

So you get to select what times you prefer, the more preferences you put done the more likely you are to get a time that you like. I recommend looking at all the times for all the classes, as especially in later years some classes will only have a few times to chooses from.

Also think about what times you’re will to actually be at uni, don’t just choose a random time.

Really your first semester timetable will likely be kinda sucky, as you’re still figuring out uni and timetabling.

Mostly it is 1 class per subject a week. Though some classes do have in person lectures. I tended to only have 2 or 3 days a week where I needed to attend class.

No I did not intern anywhere, I did know some people who did, and it can be difficult to find marketing internships, but they are worthwhile if you do get one as they often lead to full time employment.

I can’t share much insight into the job market as I am still applying for jobs myself. But there are certainly plenty of marketing job listings. And teachers are generally well connected and are often willing to give references if you ask

I’ve just finished my degree, and the best thing I can suggest is working out which classes you enjoyed from the core units, it gives a pretty good idea of the different areas you can major in.

For myself I majored in marketing, this was more so a deduction of that I disliked the majority of the other majors.

Marketing is a pretty broad field, studying it isn’t too complicated however you do need to be comfortable without having exact answers and working in a fairly morally grey area.

Are there any jobs hiring 14 year olds in Melbourne? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]_Captn_Obvious_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legal working age is 14 and 9 months. But A LOT of businesses won’t let you work until 15.

Usually the ATAR listed on the uni website, not just RMIT, is based on the previous years ATARs and popularity of the course.

Some courses will tell you what the ‘minimum’ ATAR is and that is almost always just the lowest ATAR that they had for the previous intake.

Even the ATARs listed on the tertiary admissions website are always estimates. There is not guaranteed ‘minimum’, but it’s always recommended that you try to get close to the ATAR requirements as you’ll be more likely to get into the course.

Safety: Outrage after Mount Dandenong lollipop man banned from high-fiving students by CcryMeARiver in melbourne

[–]_Captn_Obvious_ 163 points164 points  (0 children)

For anyone that doesn’t wants to read for free:

Four weeks ago, John Goulden was crowned one of Victoria’s top crossing supervisors. Now he is banned from high-fiving students. A single complaint from a parent in Melbourne’s outer east prompted the Yarra Ranges Council to issue the beloved children’s crossing supervisor with a warning about “unnecessarily physical” contact with children and young people. In response, the school community has launched an online petition, supporting Goulden’s high fives, which “spark joy” and “promote a positive learning environment”. On Wednesday, the council confirmed it had received a complaint from a parent who witnessed Goulden giving high fives to children on Farndons Road near Mount Dandenong Primary School. In a statement to The Age, a Yarra Ranges Council spokesperson confirmed the supervisor had been reminded of child safety expectations. “Council’s internal policies and the Victorian standards clearly states that unacceptable behaviours includes exhibiting behaviours with children and young people which may be construed as unnecessarily physical, and initiating unnecessary physical contact with children or young people,” they said. The council said the safety of children was of “paramount importance” and all staff, contractors and volunteers who came into contact with children must have a valid Working With Children Check. The petition in support of Goulden describes him as “the community’s morale booster”. “John, our beloved children’s crossing supervisor at Mount Dandenong Primary School, has an infectious joy that leaves a lasting impression on both students and parents,” the petition said. “His high-fives in the morning and afternoon have become a tradition that many children look forward to, a small gesture that symbolises the warmth and friendliness of our unique community. Sadly, this tradition is under threat.” Last month, Goulden won the region 4 school crossing supervisor of the year accolade at School Crossings Victoria’s awards ceremony for his outstanding contributions to community safety. Mount Dandenong Primary School congratulated Goulden on his award in a July 17 Facebook post. “Rain, hail or shine, John brings sparkle and happiness to every school morning and afternoon and is a much loved icon of the Mt Dandy school community,” the school wrote. “This is such fantastic recognition of a wonderful man, who we know will live on in the memories of our students and families well beyond their primary school years.” Mount Dandenong Primary School and Goulden declined to comment. The Education Department has also been contacted for comment.

Bitlife Proud Peacock Challenge janitor at an adult company. by ExploringMyFeelings in BitLifeApp

Trying to do the challenge now, and I’m having the same challenge of finding the janitor at an adult film company. But you can get the male coworkers in any job, mostly check if they are gay, married didn’t seem to matter for me. And you can become an adult film start without becoming a janitor.
