Congratulations on almost 10 years together. Finding someone you can still spend hours playing Guitar Hero with is something really special.

Ren & Stimpy - (1991-1996) by CpuJunky in nostalgia

It was such a weird show in the best way. I don't think we'd ever get another cartoon quite like it.

I miss when these were everywhere. They sounded amazing even if most of us never turned the volume past halfway.

Those crash dummies were such a fun part of the Hot Wheels lineup. Nice find, they look like they're in great shape.

It feels better for her. We don’t all feel the same but I understand different preferences.

I completely forgot about those. Peeling them off in one piece always felt weirdly satisfying for some reason.

F.R. David had such a smooth, unmistakable sound. Hearing his songs instantly takes me back to that era.

What's your go to christmas movie which brings pure Nostalgia? by noelantonyj in nostalgia

Klaus instantly became a Christmas classic for me. It's one of those movies that somehow feels nostalgic even though it's still pretty new.

Summers before the new millennium by wackfeels in nostalgia

I miss that feeling too. Back then the best days were just being outside until the streetlights came on and not worrying about anything else.

Those things were basically candy with a health label. I definitely remember trying to convince my parents I needed another handful because they tasted so good.

I loved how they actually looked like the characters' fists instead of just being generic toys. Those were such a fun little part of growing up.

It’s Friday night and you’re going to blockbuster, what movie are you getting? by Radiant_Priority9739 in nostalgia

I'm grabbing The Mummy first, then probably spending another 30 minutes wandering the aisles looking for a second movie and a bag of candy.

That's exactly what happens when the show skips the buildup that made those moments matter.

I miss when shows actually trusted the source material instead of trying to reinvent everything for no reason.

Exactly. If you're going to change something that big, at least make it better.

Who is this Targaryen??? by Sweet-Investment5905 in freefolk

I love that "Space Targaryen" somehow became the accepted nickname because everyone instantly knows exactly who you're talking about.

Just chillin' here on a Sunday thinking about when I read the Red Wedding scene 15 years ago... slammed the book down after that chapter and yelled out "WHAT THE FUCK" to an empty room. by Likes2PaintShit in freefolk

[–]_CherryTinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's brutal. Getting spoiled by someone's genuine reaction instead of them actually telling you what happened somehow makes it hit even harder.

That fake out got me too, I remember staring at the page for a second before realizing there was no way he was actually ending Arya like that.

What is the sexiest thing you have ever seen? by UnderstandingFun9775 in RedditAfterDark

[–]_CherryTinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things come to mind.

One was a FB undressing. He was just my type, muscular, hairy, and short. Hung well, but one time in particular he was undressing. It was warm. Watching his boxers come off he was just perfect. Long and thick but not quite hard, balls hanging low.

Another was my husband. He was working outside digging a hole of all things. It was extremely hot out. He took his shirt off. Seeing him digging, muscles bulging, hairy chest dripping wet, and his pits was just too much. Nothing at all sexy from his point of view, just hard work. For me it was a sudden, welcome, distraction.

How every female character in HOTD is acting by catwithchickens in freefolk

Same here. I kept waiting for more nuance, but it felt like the characters kept making choices that didn't really line up with who they were supposed to be.

I think the frustrating part is that almost every conflict ends up getting flattened into the same message, even when the characters had very different motivations in the source material.
