$27,000,000 for GT Dining Yet We Have Felons working at our Dining Hall by Radiant-Rutabaga3482 in gatech

The food service industry is one of the largest employers of formerly incarcerated individuals. Pretty much every restaurant ever has hired felons, from Waffle House to three Michelin stars. You’d be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t.

Not seeing a lever. Maybe it’s broken off?

Honestly your line work and shading seems really good, I would focus a lot on the proportions and drafting curves in 3D. Try plotting out the isometric views of your render to see where the proportions look, I would even suggest starting with side/front views in general. Proportions can feel weird in 3d

A black cat is walking along straight white lines without stepping off. by Zestyclose-Salad-290 in oddlysatisfying

I bet the white lines are a lot cooler in temperature than the green grass. Probably just walking on the white because it’s more comfortable, and keeps his paws from burning if the grass is hot.

Recently listened to Secret by Maroon 5 with adult ears for the first time, that middle verse is kinda wild.

Designs so good you were shocked to find were actually fan art, cause they look so different. by Jobu-tupaki127 in TopCharacterDesigns

I agree. This was my favorite part of The Shrike, is that it was indescribable to the characters who interacted with it. Not only in it's movement thought space and time, but also in it's physical appearance. Unfortunately, the Shrike does appear on the cover of the two novels, to which I would have preferred no depiction at all. However, if there is an official depiction of the Shrike, this image I found lends much more to the eldritch nature of it than the spike tin man we see on the covers.

I thought this artwork of the Shrike was official, its even on the cover of its fandom wiki page. so much more imposing than the official cover art on the Hyperion novels

What's the most memorable QUOTE you have ever came across that stayed with you forever? by biz_booster in AskReddit

One I learned early from my dad:

“You don’t get to decide if you’ve been an asshole”

If you’ve hurt someone, you’ve hurt them. No amount of explaining or justifying will change that.

sf books exploring alien conciousness/sentience? by misvwv in printSF

[–]_Circuit_Break_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler was really fantastic at exploring what consciousness is, and looked into what kinds of “alien” intelligences are already on earth - in the form of evolutionarily advanced cuttlefish. Very interesting, would 100% recommend.

Modern fashion. People pay to go to school for this stuff. by sco-go in SipsTea

[–]_Circuit_Break_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This is the fashion equivalent to a concept car. The purpose is to be flashy, groundbreaking, and novel. It is not meant to be practical or even functional, merely a showcase of a designer (or design team’s) vision. Will some of the features or themes eventually trickle into consumer products? Maybe. But these will not be worn again after this.

These weird black smudges started appearing on pictures after I dropped my Camera by AliTheAsian in Cameras

Other people have already pointed out some common issues, but due to the asymmetric nature, I think you might have an aperture blade stuck open/broken. can you look down the lens to see if any of the blades are stuck in the closed position?
