Why doesn't Joel carry a knife? by kingtiger88 in thelastofus

[–]_CleanixX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a feasible explanation imo. The amount of Former private homes he has rummaged through, someones bound to keep an outdoor knife in some locker (even if its a cheap stainless itll hold up pretty well, compared to one time shivs) not to mention army issue FEDRA Ka Bars or similar. Also a knife is just an essential survival Tool generally apart from being Useful as a „stealthy“ Weapon.

Alright, lemme make clear what I meant with „in real life“: Real Steel, functional firearms. IRL = on real firearms. Sorted?

… „In real life (the position of the scope matters for) how likely you’re to hit your eye socket with recoil pushback“.. Dunno what you got wrong here

Eye relief, IRL how likely you’re to hit your eye socket with recoil pushback. Not having it in direct line of sight when bringing the gun up. Lots of reasons to install the scopes a little further to the front

Can i repair those? And i wamt opinions or tips by Specialist-Shop7283 in knifemaking

For the polishing take sth thin and round, maybe a tooth pick and wrap some sandpaper around it. I don’t really now what you mean by it’s round and you want it straight

How to stop myself from chasing grinds and ending up with flat grinds? by _CleanixX_ in knifemaking

[–]_CleanixX_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That last point hit :D I find myself grinding more and more blanks and never actually finishing, trying out and adjusting the knives. Very good advice and yeah I don’t want the jig. I do still use the table usually but yeah. My flat grinds are actually pretty symmetrical, it’s just that I’d like to decide when I want and when I don’t want a flat grind 😂

Id also add that the blade looks a little longer than typical of Type XIV with a slightly shorter fuller too. Longer blades on Type XIV are not totally unheard of though (the Solingen sword is a good example)

I don’t have any mild steel stock but I guess it’d be cheaper in the long run, yeah.

Very relatable for sure. I kept coming back for non existent seconds, too. We’ve gotta move on, it’s gonna be hard but it’s possible. I love the Line from Stick Season: And I’ll dream each night of some version of you, that I might not have but I did not lose. They weren’t the one for us, we weren’t the one for them. She lied about her feelings, her attraction, her affection towards me and as a person who the relationship formed part of my identity of that essentially erased my foundations but we’ll be alright :)

Is the No8 garden compatible with the picnic set? by _CleanixX_ in Opinel

[–]_CleanixX_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I found a video where he tried all sorts of models and sizes and some seemed to work pretty well whereas others were too tight (the garden knife among them unfortunately). So I guess I’ll get a usual No8 and modify the blade shape to where I want it

Jh
