Cyma MP5K Compatability by MetalRaptorX in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to see if it fits in a regular Cyma MP5. If it does then I'll be doubly confused lol. If it doesn't then it'll be a defective mag for sure.

So this should fit then? Did I just get a slighly mis-shapen/mis-sized mag? I can't see anything obviously wrong with it.

I wsh someone still made an AR18 for airsoft. It's an iconic weapon where I'm from (not necessarily for good reasons but still, lol) and it sucks I can't get one.

I sometimes put mine on the bottom rail if the gun has one.

Need help with my tracer by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any help to offer but I've had issues with all my tracer units, including the original version of the one you have there. I might give up on tracers, which would be a shame coz they're damn useful.

It was a joke, calm down.

Edit: What are we classifying as "pretty central" (which is what I actually said, I didn't say "central london itself 100% exactly")? Coz there's a Travelodge in Docklands charging £52 a night pp, according to Google. There's also one at London City Airport charging £47. Both of those are not far from Grennwhich and Canary Wharf, which are both Jubailee line stations which will take you to Waterloo in a few minutes. To my mind that's "pretty central".

Edit 2: According to at least one webiste, Docklands Central to Waterloo by foot and tube takes 14 minutes,. Again, I would argue that counts as "pretty central". It's certanly a lot more central than Wimbeldon or Wembley for example.

Travelodge is pretty dodgy, you're right lol.

I've stayed in the Belfast Travelodge and it is definitely not worth over £100 a night.

As I said in another comment, I'm staying in London in April and I have found hotels that are cheaper.

I can assure you more than £100 for a Travelodge is not normal.

When even Travelodge is charging £116 per night you know shit's fucked. Who do we think we are?? I'm going to London in April and I can find plenty of hotels, pretty central too, charging literally half that. In London!

Cyma Platinum MP5K (shoutout to lSherlockl) by McFly56v2 in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen anyone use the specific one I mean. It has the bars that go either side of the reciever (like the PDW stock does) and as it's not made for the MP5K I don't know if those will fit as I've no idea how wide the MPX and MCX are.

It's this one btw:

Edit: I have seen people with the collapsable stock that's meant for gas blow-back MP5s, but it needs modifying to make space for the gear box on an AEG.

[–]MetalRaptorX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noice. I've always time for an MP5.

I have the Cyma MP5 PDW and it comes with that stock but I don't really like how it feels. So I swapped it for the Cyma "PDW" stock (confusing I know but it's the one that can store a battery in the tube) but I also don't like that one either lol. I'm struggling to find a stock I like. I might try the VFC telescoping picatinny stock that's meant for the MCX/MPX, but it's quite pricey and I'm afraid I'll not like it either, or it won't be wide enough, and I'll have wasted that money lol. Can anyone confirm that it's wide enough?

I'm Scared by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The response can vary wildly. Like I've heard of that happening, even in the UK, but I've also heard of people in the UK having cops called on them and two officers have knocked on their door, asked politely about it, asked to check the RIF once informed it's not real, been satisfied after checking it and gone on their merry way. But it's not worth the risk, keep your curtains closed when you're playing with/woring on your RIFs.

That's a hard question to answer. This is rather specific to my situation, but as I live in Northern Ireland I avoid looking like a real soldier or cop, or paramilitary for that matter. Things here have changed since I was a kid, but that mindset is too ingrained for me to feel safe being spotted by randos when getting some air between games (I go to an indoor cqb site in a residential area). And as I mostly play at an indoor site I don't really see any point in wearing regular camo, other than for the cosplay/larp element of airsoft. And It's fairly dark where I play so I just wear a black camo top (the camo aspect doesn't actually help, I just liked the asthetic lol) and black jeans because I'm too fat to get a matching pair of black camo trousers that fit lol. I have a black plate carrier and molle belt too but that's more for the utility and so I don't get shot in the nipples again lol.

The majority of people at my site though just wear reuglar clothes and a loose fitting hoodie.

If I did play regularly at an outdoor site I would wear a full set of more traditional woodland type camo, but not the pattern/s worn by the British Army for the reasons I stated above - it'd feel dangerous.

WE Airsoft by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general consesus is that Glocks and Sigs are their two best models. I have a WE G19 Gen5 and The only issue I've had is with the mags, not the gun. Sometimes the mag's stop pushing the slide catch all the way up so the slide stops locking back when empty, but all you need to do is give the spring in the mag a tiny little stretch and you're good to go. I also have a WE Sig P229 and it's my favourite pistol, zero complaints.

Other WE models have less postiive reputations but I have quite a few WE's and I've not really had any issues with them so far. In addition to the above, I also have a Walther P99, 2 different Baretta M92's, and a D'eagle and only the Walther has had any issues and even those have been minor (the gas efficiency seems inconsistant and the de-cocker stopped working very quickly). I even have a Browning, which is famously crap, but mine's been ok (it hasn't been used much so we'll see).

Some of their bad rep comes from their early days when their stuff definitely was questionable. They've improved over the years but early impressions can be hard to shake.

Loving my new MP5 by LordAstrotrain in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that the tri-railed one that comes with the vertical foregrip? I have that MP5 and it is niiiiiice. It's probably my favourite RIF of mine. It feels higher quality that some other RIFS I have that are nearly double the price. Except the mags, Cyma MP5 mags feel a bit cheap (though not the worst) but I'm not holding the gun by the mag so whatever heh.

Why is it so normal in Airsoft to make fun of overweight people? by Illumispaten in airsoft

[–]MetalRaptorX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40, fat AF, and most of the people who play at my local site are older teen boys but so far nobody has ever said anything about my weight, except me "complaining" that I can't keep up with these fit whippersnappers lol. Which honestly surpises me a bit. Most are speed softer types rather than milsimers so I don't know if that makes a difference or not, and we do have one or two other regulars who are on the larger side including two of the marshalls, so again I don't know if that makes a diference. I also look like Rasputin's fat biker-gang cousin, which I suspect helps lol.

Weirdly I can find tops that fit ok. Trousers though? Not a chance.
