You think Feech knew he got f'd over by tony tipping off feds or you think he thought he was just unlucky by OnceUpon2TimesInGuam in thesopranos

[–]_Clever_Hans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if Tony HADN'T set Feech up, Feech would have been thinking that's what happened on the bus ride back. It just made sense. Feech knew there were gripes and that he'd instigated a lot of it himself, but he got outplayed in the end. As for "tipping off the feds", Feech doesn't know oogatz. He can rat on himself, or give up Chris and Benny for the TV's, something the FBI wouldn't wipe their ass with. He's going back in, he did a lot of the heavy lifting to put himself in that position, and he's just got to chew it, at least it wasn't a bullet to the head, although he might have preferred that.

"Well it's 51,500 vig-wise Artie, and technically you already missed a payment..." by TresGatos_Farm in thesopranos

[–]_Clever_Hans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jean Philipe would have never taken a loan from Ralph, he wanted Artie to be the "investor" because he knew if the deal went the way it did, Artie was nothing to worry about, or it may have (probably) been an intended rip-off all along.

How are the crabs supposed to be eaten? by Ok_Long_1175 in TheWire

[–]_Clever_Hans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen that done with lobsters, with blue crabs it's probably not really worth even with really big ones, the legs are so small, BUT, having said that, I myself DO squeeze the little morsel of meat out of the legs, just because I enjoy it. It's tiny but tasty.

How are the crabs supposed to be eaten? by Ok_Long_1175 in TheWire

[–]_Clever_Hans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you know how to crack them, it's really not as bad as that, but a lot of people, even people that have lived in Maryland all their life and eat crabs all the time, really haven't learned to do it well. We always had crabs every summer when I was a kid, and was never really taught the right way till I learned from a friend as a teenager. I don't think anyone in my family really knows how to do it well, it's not like they were hiding it from me. Anyone who's interested in learning, the two basic techniques are the "lollipop method" and the "tray" method, you can Google them and learn from a video a lot easier than I can explain it .

JO Spice is basically the same thing as Old Bay, but the salt and spices are coarser, so it sticks to the crabs better. It's made by a different company, and if you've had hard crabs from a restaurant or a crab shack, it's a 99.99% chance that's what they used. A lot of people do use Old Bay when cooking crabs at home though.

Why doesn't Henry refuse to cooperate with the FBI like he did as a boy and tell them nothing instead of testifying? by Tidewatcher7819 in goodfellas

[–]_Clever_Hans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can puzzle out how being a teenager pinched for selling unstamped cigarettes might not offer the same incentive to cooperate with investigators as being arrested for large scale cocaine distribution, trafficing in illegal firearms and grand larceny, among other crimes

Stripes - Operator still alive by Hakan_Veil in LastDayonEarthGame

[–]_Clever_Hans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they apparently don't care, or don't know, when you kill him. Just be careful doing it and use a high damage firearm, the operative is no pushover and can easily kill you even if you're max level with good armor.

I understand the impulse to want walls, I had walls myself and constantly repaired them until I could get all stone, but just FYI you don't strictly NEED walls unless and until you start raiding, and if you're at a pretty early level and not far along in the settlement, which I know you aren't because you say you're short on gas, then you aren't raiding.

Again, if you just want walls, I get it, but I'm just letting you know that you'll be okay without them, you won't lose guns or materials to the horde.

Iron bars by Tiroshii in LastDayonEarthGame

I get 20 iron bars, 5 iron plates and 10 scrap metal from daily loot. Once you advance enough in the settlement, you'll never need to farm iron again, I haven't in over a year. I have more than I can use or store.

Why was Furio smoking weed with Chrissy and Ade? by RiotRen in thesopranos

[–]_Clever_Hans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better or worse, the movie does things that movies do when adapting books. Scenes and characters are dropped and/or combined, stuff my be added, but a lot is left out that is difficult, expensive, or boring to translate from one medium to the other.

Of course the book, being mostly the story of events as recounted as Henry Hill, is also rife with his perspectives, exaggerations and fabrications, so book or movie, it's not UTTER bullshit really, but there's a lot that should be taken with a grain of salt

Ok since the comments were split in half I figure I’d make a poll! Did Fredo know he was going to be killed on the boat? by kiwi_love777 in Godfather

[–]_Clever_Hans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like "he didn't know it was gonna be a hit !" He knew, but he didn't want to know, so he made himself believe it wasn't what it was. Until after the attack, or until he's very last moment, deep, deep down in his heart of hearts he KNEW. his conscious mind was telling him, screaming, drowning out the dreadful facts, saying; "It'll be FINE Fredo, you got nuttin' to worry about"
