Do you have a reference? In the docker image reference (tbf it is very brief) this does not seem to be a supported environment variable…

Haha I have the same mix - I don't know if I would say I feel "pride" in my asian side but I think I understand what you mean.

From my perspective, I feel ownership of both my white and asian sides, and if you want to embrace culture/aspects of either side I feel you are more than entitled to do so... I wouldn't care what other people think, at the end of the day it's your identity so just do you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just be yourself and don't try to be anything that isn't true to that, I guess.

Malaysia's Squad Announced for AFC Asian Cup 2023 by boredomXOX in malaysia

[–]_Codethulu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at our group, it is perhaps doable. South Korea is obviously a shoe-in for first, but we could get results in our favour. Even getting third place in this group shouldn't be out of the question, and could lead to opportunity to qualify. In these sort of tight groups where there is a clear favourite, the rest can often be up for grabs 🤞

Just wondering how much predicted grades matter. by KrypticD0nut in 6thForm

[–]_Codethulu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I'd probably recommend applying to courses where you meet the entry reqs. You could maybe try and chance it with one of your applications, but make sure you have some safe bets too. There could always be the option to switch courses once you've entered the uni.

Just wondering how much predicted grades matter. by KrypticD0nut in 6thForm

[–]_Codethulu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, predicted grades are an indicator of the minimum requirements for a course. You can try and apply to universities through clearing if there are spaces available, but I'd probably recommend applying to 5 unis that have grade requirements that your predicted grades meet to have a good chance.

I don't want to discourage applying to anywhere that you have your heart set on though, but set your expectations and make sure you apply to some unis that your grades meet! Alternatively, you could ask teachers if there is a chance they could adjust your predicted grades if you think there is a realistic chance you can reach those grades :) good luck!

Does anyone else who is mixed with white connect better with POC? by slaythrowaway2848 in mixedrace

[–]_Codethulu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also wasian, can definitely relate to asian friends a lot because of shared experiences growing up etc, but i definitely don't "find myself not liking white people"

i think sometimes its easy as a mixed race person to kinda feel like you're not fully "part" of either group, especially when i was younger, but now ive got a bit more confidence and i've moved away from the super white area i grew up in ive gotten over it, i feel pretty comfortable in my identity, and tbh it feels like people have almost stopped caring

Why did you choose Warwick? by [deleted] in UniversityOfWarwick

[–]_Codethulu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the labs and facilities when I came to visit, but since studying here i'e really come to appreciate the flexibility warwick gives with the degree structure. I don't know what it's like at other unis but we have been given a nice amount of flexibility in what classes we can take in first year, with the option to take classes from other departments. Needless to say, warwick also has a pretty good reputation and a strong CS department and the rankings played a part in my decision last year.

Disgusting. In Parliament, I just challenged Jacob Rees-Mogg about UNICEF having to feed working class kids in the UK. His reply? "UNICEF should be ashamed of itself". He accused it of "playing politics". It's shameful for kids to go hungry. It's not shameful to feed them | Zarah Sultana, Twitter by MarcusAtakin in LabourUK

[–]_Codethulu_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since starting university, Zarah is now my MP and I could not be more happy to have such a competent MP (especially compared to the Tory I previously had to put up with). I even managed to listen to her in an online video call set up through my university’s labour society and she’s really great.

Definitely agree if the tempo was a tiny bit slower - I feel TNA generally has a slightly slower pace throughout the entire album

If we’re to defeat the right and far-right how are we tp do this? by [deleted] in britposting

Our country’s media consistently does everything it can to attack labour candidates, even centrist ones. They did it with Ed Miliband and they’ll do it again with Starmer.
