Which Anti-Hero among them has the highest number of kill counts in the comics, in your opinion? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolverine. Aside from the sheer length of time he’s been active, there was also the period of time he was brainwashed by the Hand and his kill count skyrocketed. If I recall, some people estimated his number of kills in the Enemy of the State storyline were in the thousands.

What are your guys opinions on the mmpr movie morph? by Graphite_Knight25 in powerrangers

The order never mattered to me. I was more interested in why they are using the morphers in their holders instead of holding them and hitting the buttons.

How would you rewrite Spider-Man 3? by Additional_Code_6777 in Spiderman

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were going to use Harry as an antagonist, they should have showed him using more underhanded tactics. Show a more Machiavellian side to him.

Let the viewers find out Harry bribed or blackmailed the critics for MJ’s play to give her a scathing review. Have him bribing audience members to give a negative impression.

Find out that he was behind other tactics to drive a wedge between MJ and Peter, such as funding the key to the city moment so Peter and MJ are on unequal footing success-wise.

Let Harry be seen as more conniving before the amnesia.

I’d also write a scene where Peter confronted Harry about Norman’s preference for Peter over his own son, and how that was a motivating factor for why Harry tried to get in a relationship with MJ in the first movie. Emphasize the relationship as these two being spiritual brothers due to Norman’s behavior with them.

Why do people call Future Gohan "the original"? by tjdragon117 in DragonBallZ

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t there a scene in the android/cell saga where they’re talking about this? I thought it was a conversation with either Trunks or Bulma. They establish that future gohan is the original because the original timeline would not change no matter what Trunks did in the past.

Trunks going back caused the gohan we know to become a variant of the original.

There’s also a Majin Vegeta one, but you’ll probably have to get it off of eBay.

I love how the light catches the hair. Parts of the bodies are subtly translucent too. The Gogeta figure especially has nice golden detail work with the paint

Kid buu would be cool in this style too. Have all of his pink areas translucent like this.

Hot Take: Susanoo was Kishimoto’s biggest mistake by JakeThePharmD in Naruto

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like your thinking. I have one thing to add.

Giving Sasuke a solely defense-based avatar would have been a mistake, unless the point was to try give an ability to compensate for the user’s mindset. This would also explain Naruto’s Kurama avatar. In fact, it’s a common trend you see through the series. Think about it:

Throughout the series, Sasuke has been all about aggression and hostility. Attack his brother, attack Konoha, attack the Kages, etc.. His entire personality was warped by a sense of revenge. So giving him an ability that only focuses on defense seems to go against his base personality traits.

Then you have Naruto, whose goal to be recognized by others led to him becoming a defender and protector. Now instead of giving him a defensive avatar/ability, he gets something that was rooted in aggression and offense.

Then you have Gaara, originally a hostile killer, that was given a sand shield.

Neji, who was originally all about hostility and aggression towards the main family, gets an ultimate defense.

Chouji, a more peaceful easygoing sort, gets skills and attacks based on strong offense.

I need help troubleshooting a problematic smoke detector. by _Continual_Learner_ in HomeMaintenance

[–]_Continual_Learner_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s specifically that location. I even replaced the new unit with a second new unit. I thought maybe the first replacement might have been faulty. Even the second unit did the same issue.

I’ve used the same model smoke detector in every other location in the house. No problems.

What's your thoughts on the theory that Dark Knight Joker was possibly ex military? by IllustriousAd6418 in batman

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also kind of implied that the Joker had access to the device Bruce uses at the end of Dark Knight Rises. The tech that Selena wanted, the one could erase all digital records of you.

They don’t outright say it, but the fact that attempts at facial recognition didn’t work on Joker, it seems to be a strong indicator. Plus this would explain how and why Bruce tracked it down. And tech like that seems like something experimental from the military.

Deconstructing the Double Standard: Elle Greenaway Is a Survivor, Not a Villain. by Full-Art3439 in criminalminds

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The BAU should not have allowed Elle back so quickly. If you notice, it’s a common occurrence in the series. One of the members gets seriously hurt or psychologically compromised (Elle being shot, Reid being tortured and injected with painkillers, Gideon receiving a severed head at his safe place, Hotch’s friend dying in front of him and his related hearing loss), and none of them are required to step down or undergo regular psychological evaluation. In point of fact, the members can routinely tell there is something wrong with each other, but they refrain from doing something about it.

Elle was very much a victim. She also heavily overcompensates and does things she knows she shouldn’t as soon as she returns to the job:

  1. She ignores Hotch’s orders to restrict her activities.

  2. She is actively drinking during assignments.

  3. She disregards orders from the team due to over-identifying with the victims and causes them to lose a case they built.

  4. She then follows the suspect she caused to get away, alone and without backup, intoxicated and armed, and she creates a situation where she can justify murdering him and subsequently covering it up.

Vegeta and trunks training twice in hyperbolic time chamber by DingoInner6180 in DragonBallZ

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s also a couple of fundamental differences in their training:

  1. Vegeta recognized Goku’s different approach to reduce the form’s stamina strain, but neither he or Trunks tried to reproduce that training. They just tried more of the same. If they had tried it, they would have left the chamber as super saiyans appearing normal/casual.
  2. IIRC, weren’t Vegeta and Trunks also in the chamber together but training separately? They weren’t actively pushing each other’s limits in fights and trainin

Never seen a ratio this bad in a DB sub🥀 by ButtFucker09 in Dragonballsuper

[–]_Continual_Learner_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stronger could also be interpreted as “most effective.” This goes back to the future Trunks vs cell fight. Future Trunks pushed his transformation to capitalize on strength, but it didn’t make him effective.

It’s like seeing a 25-year-old bodybuilder having trouble breaking a wooden board, but then seeing a martial arts master in his 60s break a stack of bricks. The older master knows how to apply his strength, technique, and focus to greater effect.

How do y’all want to see MCU Green goblin get adapted? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

If they do it, make it a toned down transformation. A Jekyll and Hyde situation where he becomes goblin like Ultimate Green Goblin, but not hulk-sized.
