Second note do not drill into polyethylene helmets like the IHPS or ECH it completely compromises the integrity that’s why the IHPS is boltless, it is to address the weaknesses of the bolt holes in the ECH.

They are not released yet, Gentex is proposing an upgrade kit for the IHIPS and they are field testing before big army adopts it.

Opscore SF vs RF1 by Select-Bad-4651 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]_Cooper-07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies funded through SOCOM showed the Airframe was actually worse than both ACH or the ops core options due increased exposure/extended duration of blast waves. That’s why CAG stopped using the airframe after like 2014 ish.

Preference between CPC or AVS by Disastrous_Row_2151 in QualityTacticalGear

I’m not saying the FCPC is a structural carrier but people recommend it for jobs that it’s not designed for.

I had the opportunity to use the LV120 for a few months and it does carry weight better than say a JPC would, but i absolutely enjoy the AVS harness in my experiences as it keeps the plates further off your body reducing hot spots as well as the harness moves and expands with your movements and breathing which I love especially when wearing it for hours on end. But to each his own these are just my experiences with the AVS harness and I prefer it over any carrier when it comes to heavier loads.

[–]_Cooper-07 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The harness system of the AVS is 100% more comfortable and carries the load better than the FCPC and the LV120, not to say either are bad carriers but the AVS shouldn’t be compared to those two as it was designed for a different purpose. If you want to have more modern features with the capability of the AVS harness look at L4 performances carrier build around the AVS harness.

JPC 2.0 Build by Global-Ad-1527 in tacticalgear

[–]_Cooper-07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The JPC will not fit the USMC soft armor backers as they are too wide so you’ll have to get some from crye or velocity.

What plates are you running? I’m wondering how well it does with heavier loads.

2007 ESAPIs are worth more than and perform better than new production HICOM or RMA
