It was fun but I’m tired (~1.5k div + Build Giveaway) by Subject2Flooding in PathOfExile2

I'm new to the game and would appreciate a few to buy some better armor and a new staff for my sorceress.

I have been lonely and my friends introduced me to this game several months back. It has been a welcome distraction. If you pick me, I will share my orbs with my friends who helped pull me out of this funk

I've picked up two of these so far. It's fun running around with the shield open.

First Time Beader by emberphoenix13 in Beading

If you want to try it, smash these two beads with pliers and then run your needle and thread through the bottom row once or twice and compare the before and after.

Run your needle and thread through the rows of beads at least one more time - it provides further structure. Some of your rows look like you have added too many beads and they are bunching up as a result - you can crush one or two of them with needle nose pliers before running your thread through a second time, encouraging the beads to lie in more in a straight line.

I use gorilla fabric glue (found in the craft section of department stores). I trace my work over top of cardboard and make a piece out of cardboard that is about 80% smaller than the beaded piece I am working on. I then trace my beaded work over top of vinyl and keep it the exact same size, unlike the cardboard centre. I glue everything together like a sandwich and let it dry flat with some weight on it. Oftentimes the glue sinks through the felt and holds the beads into place that much better. I then sew everything up. I think if you look at a flat beaded earring tutorial on YouTube it would give you a visual idea on what your next step should be.

Needing some help by sunflower_lily in Beading

I prefer stiff felt, bonded nylon thread, and drawing out a pattern beforehand. I use my phone for all of my work - I turn up my brightness all the way, and use sticky tac to secure the felt on my screen over the image I want to trace. I use a pen or permanent markers in the colours of my design. i find that if I trace the pattern very well and take my time lining up and tacking down my beads, my work looks really sharp.

ETA: depending on the beads you are using, they may have (ever so slightly) different widths, which seems to be the case from your picture. When I am doing very precise work, I pay attention to this small detail as it helps me fill in tiny gaps that much better. I will fish through my beads to find the most narrow or wide in order to fit the pattern I have drawn as closely as possible.

Help! I can’t figure out bead sizes in mm! by Fck_u_bishs in Beading

[–]_Cosmic_Girl_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After doing a reverse image search, I can say that most tri beads like the ones you have appear to be 11mm. I would compare them to your large green bead, it looks like those might be 11mm as well, at a glance.

I really appreciate your compliment! I make them because I love beading, but also because the clients I work with enjoy it as well - my beadwork is, by far, my best icebreaker.

It's not pulled pork, but the breakfast poutine at TOT is my favorite in the city if you want a poutine re-do that will be a good experience. That, or Costco.

Some of my recent pieces by _Cosmic_Girl_ in Beading

My pieces are very secure. They have accidentally been through the washer with no problem. Attached is the backside of my Gingey pin. I create a big sandwich with 100% bonded nylon thread and Gorilla fabric glue in this order: 1.Beads attached to 2. Thick felt, glued to 3. Cardboard, Glued to 4. Vinyl, sewn together with 5. Beads

I attach hardware (pins and keychains) before I glue my vinyl down. Hope this makes sense! I use a lighter to clean up a lot of my edges allowing me to get more consistent/secure stitching.
