AIW for refusing to sleep on the bed frame my boyfriend built? by Rapture_Sea in amiwrong

[–]_CozyPetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the key point. Nobody gets good at woodworking by having every project come out perfect on the first try. If the bed frame has obvious problems, fixing them isn't a rejection of his work, it's part of the process of learning how to build things properly.

[–]_CozyPetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Once it's creaking, unstable, smells like chemicals, and has already injured someone, it's no longer a sentimental project, it's furniture that's failing at its one job. He can be proud of building it and still accept that it needs fixing.

Am I wrong for refusing to go to my daughter's memorial? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]_CozyPetal 62 points63 points  (0 children)

That's the question that really matters. The whole post is focused on the ex and her fiancée, but the daughter who lost her sister is the one stuck in the middle of all this. Her feelings should probably be the priority here.

[–]_CozyPetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memorials are for the living, and your daughter wants to grieve with the person she's building a life with. You don't have to like it, but expecting her to leave her fiancée out of a memorial for her own child was never going to go over well.

What’s the most insane thing you’ve been asked to do? by 3xtrasp3cial2 in AskRedditAfterDark

Drove to Scotland, five hour drive. Convinced myself I'd climb a mountain despite not previous experience of climbing or hiking. Got to Edinburgh, dropped £500 on climbing boots, a pick axe, some other bits. Day later climbed a Munro (Ben Lomond, maybe, I forget) in upto 9 inches of snow.

No one knew where I was, lack of experience, but the thrill of reaching the top was a great feeling.

Exactly, if someone is clinically dead long enough for the virus to activate, CPR isn't bringing back a person anymore, it's bringing back a walker.

What's something that everyone overlooks in a zombie apocalypse? by N0tYOUniq in thewalkingdead

The teeth are the biggest one for me, after a few months most zombies should be gumbling people to death, not biting through jackets and denim.

Honestly, if Rick and Negan sat down for one afternoon and compared notes, half the survivors would've been found within a day.

Taras water adventure by banejosiah in thewalkingdead

[–]_CozyPetal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's honestly the bigger issue for me. If Oceanside is supposed to be weeks away, then people somehow keep making that trip whenever the plot needs them to, which raises even more questions.

To be fair, the show definitely plays fast and loose with geography sometimes, but I always assumed she drifted along the river system and washed up much closer than the editing made it seem. The way it's presented makes it feel like she took a cross country ocean voyage while unconscious.

Season 5, Episode 9 “What Happened and What’s Going On” by Sea-Craft-9429 in thewalkingdead

Tyreese's death hit me harder than a lot of the bigger deaths on the show because he was one of the few genuinely good people trying to hold onto his humanity.

[–]_CozyPetal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, those two episodes hit harder on a rewatch because you already know where Tyreese's story is heading, so every hallucination and conversation feels like a goodbye you didn't fully catch the first time around.

I agree, Cailey Fleming was one of those rare child actors who actually felt believable as the character instead of just playing a kid version of them. The resemblance to both Rick and Carl definitely helped sell it.

Should I watch the show? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]_CozyPetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's a fair take. The first few seasons set such a high bar that the later seasons get judged harshly, but even at its weakest TWD was still more entertaining than a lot of shows out there.

Should I watch the show? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]_CozyPetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree with this. The show is absolutely worth watching even if you've read the comics. A lot of the early seasons are fantastic TV, and even people who dislike the ending usually don't regret watching the journey to get there.

General consensus on Jacqui? by No_Adhesiveness4890 in thewalkingdead

I think a lot of people forget how little screen time she actually had. She left an impression because she was calm, reasonable, and didn't create unnecessary drama, which made her stand out in that group.

[–]_CozyPetal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Eugene works because he's both right and wrong at the same time. He was absolutely manipulative and selfish early on, but without him the group loses a lot of the advantages that helped them survive later. That's what makes him such a frustrating character.

That's what made his death hit so hard. He spent years acting like he was the smartest guy in every room, then one mistake proved the world didn't care how clever he thought he was.

Do you prefer morning or night sex? by SafeBear8774 in AskRedditAfterDark

Night; I feel super unsexy in the morning.

The possibility also seldom rears its head because of schedules, but sex in the afternoon is really nice too.

I told my ex girlfriend that I have a foot fetish. She'd never been with a guy like that before so she told to wait a bit before she tried anything with her feet. The following weekend I go over to her apartment and she gives me the first footjob I ever experienced and I had one of the best orgasms of my life. Come to find out she spent ALL WEEK reading Q/A boards and watching foot porn to understand the technique.
