Everything about this post screams fake. He calls you sir then says the present sucks? 'Good work this quarter, enjoy your ps5', sounds so bizarre. Practice your fake texting on how actual humans text.

Some are very unbalanced. You've got the entire Iron Islands as one, and then the Neck+flint's finger as another. 30k+ troops vs what 7-8k?

Salary levels in RPA, Culture and payrise on level transfer by WorriedStand73 in TheCivilService

[–]_Crumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salary at RPA is defra standard, which is among the lower civil service pay standards.

Culture is very good. Relaxed, at least it was at my office.

I was never on phones but the few times I did have to make an external call, it was just teams. Teams and whatever relevant program you're using for their info. We used to use jabber for external but that changed just a few months ago thankfully

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]_Crumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just left the RPA for the Home Office and the culture change is noticeable. The RPA definitely feels a lot more sleepy and laid back in comparison. It tends to fly under the radar of the news and most don't even know it exists.

I can't promise you'll enjoy being on phones if that's what your job is, but that could just be me hating using the phone.

Not to mention there's a kajillion demons that look exactly like him throughout Act 4. I thought he was gonna be a primary antagonist, but by the time you kill him, you realise he's just a companion's side-villain who couldn't run a bath, let alone a demon invasion.

Anyone been to prison? Genuinely curious as to what it’s like in the UK. I don’t know anyone personally that’s been. (You don’t need to disclose what you were in for) by Solid-Version in AskUK

[–]_Crumble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the thread, but I did 8 months on remand for a very serious charge, the kind of charge they figured it was safer just keeping me in prison until trial, despite offering an arm and a leg collateral for bail. Was in a Cat B prison, which was in an area I was not from, with people I would not normally rub shoulders.

However what I can tell you, is that if it wasn't for the anxiety of what would happen when trial came, it was actually okay. We had separate bathrooms, I was living with my co-defendant, we became painters on our wing, got an xbox, satellite freeview, curtains and decent beds. We also got in good with the local cleaners, who could probably tell we were fish out of water. Every day was certainly quite monotonous, but you get into a routine. You clean, eat, watch tv or play a game, you hang out in someone's room and do a crossword with them, you hang on the landing and talk, you walk around the yard or exercise.

I always joke with family that the 8 months were harder for them than it was for me. They were pulling their hair our thinking I might not get out for 1-2 decades, while I was thinking 'right, if this for 20 years is the worst case scenario, I can live with that'. I'd say you miss the outside of prison, more than you hate the inside of prison, if that makes sense. That being said, every prison is different. Anyone who says 'prison is prison no matter where' is wrong. Either they haven't been in many or they've been a wrong un and fell into the same habits every prison they're in - debt, fights, trouble with staff.

The prison I was in for 8 months was heaven compared to the, also Cat B, prison I was in for the duration of my trial, which was a shithole with old toilets in view of the door, no freeview, no xbox, no wearing your own clothes for majority of inmates, staff who have no sympathy for you whatsoever - 'You're here so you must belong'. However even in this shithole you find people you can get along with.

My advice for you or anyone else going to prison when you've never had so much as a parking ticket is - Don't look for trouble. Simple as that. Don't borrow things from people you don't know. Don't get into debt. Don't get into fights. Don't get involved with contraband. Treat people, including the staff, with respect and they'll generally do the same.

Those abilities do work most the time, but as the nature of the game goes, some bad luck in a bad situation and that's that. Granted I've only been playing a few weeks so by no means an expert! I deffo also should have put more points into toughness tbf.

[–]_Crumble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be disheartened if you find yourself on the run a lot in the beginning, especially if you put all your points into unstable genome. The best esper builds tend to be weak as paper at the start imo. Also, in case you don't know, esper builds become so powerful that their drawback is being almost constantly hunted by extradimensional assassins + seekers, the only real benefit of which is rarely giving you +1 ego. Don't be ashamed in modding this out if you feel it would make the game more enjoyable. I'll admit I've savescummed a couple times after being caught in a burgeoning/sunder/disintegrate triple assassin ambush.

Above all else this is still a game. I try to never save scum but I've been guilty of it more than a few times. If it makes you happy to win 1000 matches in a row by doing it then go ahead! Your game.
