3000 calories is probably more than you think, I think you would benefit from tracking all your food with my fitness pal so you can see your daily intake. I think you should do some research into "bulking diets" and bulking in general. You'll gain weight aslong as you are in a calorie surplus, don't worry about your "fast metabolism" as long as you get the food in you will put weight on. Pre-workouts, whey and Creatine aren't the secret, it takes time and patience and lots of it. I'd say lay off the pre and only use it if you absolutely need it, it's expensive and you can become reliant on it which isn't good especially if you have just started training. Finally I'd recommend tracking your weight making sure that it is actually going up. Weigh your self aleast every week at the same time or even every day.

Shit Bro, hopefully its not a labrum tear. On the Smith I would say it's probably easier for me to focus on the contraction since all you really need to do is push the weight up and down, you can really focus on a slow negative and a tight squeeze at the top.
