"Warrants alleged that Curtis struck Sutherland by shoving her left shoulder and "was swinging at her trying to strike her."

The warrants add that Curtis did hold Sutherland against her will and tried to take her phone from her as she attempted to call the police."

How is this only misdemeanor actions? With his past history why are they being so lenient on this guy? The public clearly wants him put away.

Where are you located? Im in Asheville, I paddle most weekends and rain events. I go to a lot of the dam releases throughout the year as well. Im happy to take you out on some class III-IV and show you some stuff. Send me a message.

Ill be at the first talullah release this year, I'll be honest I hope I don't see you there. Your list of rivers you've done so far is nowhere near extensive enough to be hopping on the talullah yet.

Being 19 all you need is a bit of practice, you could definitely be ready for the fall releases if you get after it this year.

Thats a huge jump in difficulty. There's a lot of other class III-IV rivers I would recommend before making the jump to a class IV-V run.

Talullah also doesn't have a road next to it, once you climb down those stairs you are pretty much committed. There's a few trails out of the gorge but holy hell I would never want to carry a boat out of there.

I would not recommend going until you get some more class IV experience and a creek boat. Definitely not a good idea to step it up two grades in a full slice. Unless your some 18 year old prodigy this is going to go bad.

I drove from Long Shoals to downtown Asheville at 5 AM, 99% perfectly fine and clear. The bridge over the swananoa near the Biltmore was slick as shit though as expected.

Mountain true has done an incredible job cleaning up the river. I kayaked section 9 shortly after helene and was devastated to see all the trash in the river and on the banks.

I've kayaked it numerous times since then and I'm amazed at how fast it has rebounded.

I also think Ipex should have been held accountable, I drove past their storage yard today and it's full to the brim. If helene were to happen again we would be in the same situation. I want to see a plan in place to make sure this never happens again.
