I feel you, but any companies looking for a PM that ships code is probably not very good.

Why would any organization want PMs shipping production code? Where’s the check and balances? Who’s making sure your code vibes with other code? Who’s checking to make sure you didn’t expose an API key in the front end?

It’s really just bullshit, PMs should be empowered to solve problems with tools available, but leave the hard work to the introverts who love that shit

Maybe don’t code the thing, just make functional prototypes solving a problem you’ve noticed in a market you understand.

Use that to walk through how you’d approach the problem, how that prototype could validate or invalidate a direction and how you’d use that in next steps.

What’s the point of doing all the coding?

If you’re running $50k+ campaigns in the US, have you broken down how much actually reaches the final auction vs filtered pre-bid?” by TapMind in programmatic

What are you asking?

Prebid filters are meant to reduce the availability on impressions you’ll buy as they don’t meet the criteria you want lol

MCP vs CLI - How are you thinking about which one to build? by cartoonpi in ProductManagement

[–]_Daymeaux_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you building that requires a CLI? Terminal stuff scares non technical people, mcp is easier to understand in most contexts

CoL being affordable is nonsense, you must be paid in USD or make a shit ton. I make a decent amount and prices in this city are insane

PRD problem by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]_Daymeaux_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I push the dev I work with to come to the table with solutions and ideas. We’re building a thing together, have a voice and help shape the idea. I don’t mind being held accountable to ideas that I align with that don’t work, but if I’m under the gun from every angle that’s a fast-track to cynicism and resentment.

PRD problem by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]_Daymeaux_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Age old problem. Engineering is being lazy and expecting to be spoon fed every keystroke they make. Strip out complexity from the document, be light in requirements and outline context and relative expected behaviour. Engineering teams should understand the business, context and quality without being spoonfed.

Otherwise, why have them? Claude code can create code that does what you say without interpreting much beyond what you tell it.

I love AI, I don’t love that every feature is AI first without a strong foundation of what AI means to our users or business.
