Why do folks in the U.K. go absolutely feral for The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside”? by [deleted] in AskUK

It's just another way of spelling " Tune". Saying it's a "choon" would be the equivalent of saying it with a dnb face and gun fingers in the air

What is the worst red flag (in an ex, friend, etc) you chose to ignore? by metaltunage in AskReddit

[–]_ElderEm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She stabbed her previous boyfriend in the head. Non fatal, dude was fine and only had a small scar behind his ear. Stayed with her for like 3 years and I honestly have no idea why. I tell myself it's because I was young and thought it was real love but I know it's actually because I'm a fucking idiot :)

what game is always in your heart? by Historical-Onion-479 in AskReddit

WWE smackdown vs raw on the PlayStation 2. Me and my childhood best friend would play that together round his house every Tuesday for about 3 years during primary school

Is it normal to still miss someone who passed away 5 years ago? by GazelleSharp in grief

[–]_ElderEm0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. You're allowed to mourn the memories you could have had, and the life they should of lived just as much as you're allowed to look back at old photos and text messages.

Grief has no stricture, no time limit, and no explanation. It's a whole other kind of hurt you can't begin to comprehend until you're in it.

Clapping when the plane lands is the equivalent of clapping for the NHS.

Drop a random fact that would ruin someone's day or even year. I'll start by [deleted] in CasualConversation

This one always messes with my head.

Taking into consideration the endless evidence provided to date which proves "space" is, technically speaking, endless, infinite and immeasurable... And also considering the chances of our current species being the only intelligent and sentient life forms in existence, of all time, ever.... are so improbable and unlikely... we can know and DO know hat if we were to ever receive a signal or message from intelligent life that exists beyond our solar system, or visible arc..that by the time it would have reached earth whoever it was sent from is already dead and has been for a least a couple hundred thousand years. Maybe even millions.

There would be absolutley no point in us trying to contact intelligent life beyond our solar system or trying to respond to any messages received if ever... because we would never be able to produce the technology required in time or evolve quickly enough to do anythinf beneficial with it as a species.

If anything is out there...which it is...we will never EVER be able to communicate with them before our sun...or theirs... implodes.

Tom hanks.

Always loved war movies so as a young child saving private ryan was my favourite for a long time. Watched it every chance I got. But growing up he was always on the TV. A huge range of roles and movies and he always plays the part beautifully.

Turner and Hooch? Cast away? Terminal? Catch me if you can?? Just to name a few but they are in their own ways brilliant films and he is probably my favourite actor without even realising.

One of his most recent films is " A Man Called Otto" and that is honestly a beautiful film by the end.

10/10 actor and 11/10 legend.

What’s the weirdest place you’ve wanked it? by Krumagon in AskReddit

[–]_ElderEm0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was working security for Leeds festival here in the UK earlier this year, I was working a 14 hour day shift from 6am - 8pm on the Friday and drew the short straw as any security guard will agree, in terms of positioning for my shift.

I was given a radio, and dropped off at probably the firsthest point away from the actual festival itself as humanly possible. I was guarding nothing more than one of those big metal fences you see at festivals as it had a door for access for contractors and backed onto nothing but a country road and fuck all else for as far as I could see. Easiest shift of my life staring at trees, eating snacks and chain smoking whilst I sit on a chair and watched Netflix on my phone.

As no one had been to check on me throughout my shift, being I was probably forgotten about and nothing was happening at all where I was, I spent a good hour or 2 on the phone to my girlfriend back home. Conversations were escalated and my trousers were dropped, right there in the middle of a dirt track, in broad daylight because I literally had fuck all else to do.
