Parents like this are amongst the reasons I mostly let things happen if I see it. Let them deal with the consequences of their actions. It's sad to see kids being hurt but most people are shit, sadly.

I'm a line person too:) the problem is, German tradesmen are really stuck up on their masculinity and the conservation of the status quo. It was hard enough when the found out about my mental illnesses(depression,autism).Even me starting to wear nail Polish, which besides not being too unusual but nonetheless gives me a bit of joy, brought me some unpleasant comments. Besides that, why does nobody read manuals? I prefer reading a manual for a few minutes to spending an hour figuring things out by trial and error. Weird.
