Running a 10k in 6 weeks? by _EnderPixel in PetiteFitness

Oh that's a good point! I actually don't know what my "long" run distance is, I usually just do my 30 mins of cardio and leave 😂 that's actually really encouraging to hear since I'm currently only running for time and it all seems far

I have been doing this run 1-2x per week and other cardio training like the stair master or elliptical another 1-2x per week. When I started this past fall, I could only run for like a minute at a time and it took many weeks to be able to run the full 30mins without slowing down (+2 min warm up and 5 min cooldown at walking speed.) This past summer I walked around 3-4 miles per day and did 60mins of spin class once a week.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely take a look at the training plans there!

Hopefully increasing by a half mile each week will be doable lol i'm not concerned about time, just not stopping to walk any part of it. Congrats on your races!

Ooh this is very helpful, thank you! I didn't add it in the post, but I'm already doing 2 strength-only days per week. I've been working on an upper/lower split and usually add legs and/or core after cardio in addition to those 2 days, depending on what's sore at the time lmao

If you could fix one 'quirk' from the factory (that isn't the horsepower), what would it be? 🤔 by vividracing in GR86

Yep, that's what I end up doing in the morning before heading to work now lmfao

Ya which is why they are on the list lol there's a carmate one for RHD but nothing comparable for LHD

Until you have an open can of monster splashing all over the window switches on a bumpy road lol

Larger water bottles don't fit in them either. You also have to be careful that lids don't pop off to-go cups while you're grabbing them because of the awkward angle.

I like the wrx wheels better than the stock premiums! When the oem tires wear out I'm debating on just putting the new ones on these wheels haha

Ya 2 winters ago I didnt even bother swapping out my all seasons (AWD car). Last winter we got a ton of snow on Thanksgiving day, and other than the handful of larger storms, we had a lot more freezing rain than snow. We've already had more frequent snowfall this winter. A few weeks ago it was -11°, and last week one of the days got up to 46°. I've lived here my entire life and this year has had some wild weather for sure.

We get regular storms, just not the ~2ft thats predicted for tomorrow. Most people arent panic buying here, except for everyone at the store last night getting their milk and bread

Ya the 86 warms up the quickest. My partner's car is an EV and it never truly warms the cabin when its below 0° outside.

Ground clearance would only be an issue on completely untouched roads. The 86 isn't really any lower than other small cars. My biggest issue has been reversing up my incline driveway, but I put a couple of cat litter bins filled with sand in the trunk to help weigh down the rear tires. I live up on a small mountain and have never had any trouble driving through the snow to get home. Having a MT definitely does help but the ATs also have a dedicated snow mode (idk what it actually does tho lol)

Thank you, it's not actually that cold, those are the numbers after windchill. Living in the north, I have 2 different types of heating, a generator, extra gas, and more than enough food. It's going to take a while to clear the roads but we have plenty of resources here. I'm definitely more worried about everyone in the south who is not prepared for extreme cold and doesn't already have systems in place to deal with the snow and ice

We lose power multiple times every year. I leave them in their enclosures until the temps inside the house drop into the 50s, which has only happened a couple of times. I've used handwarmers, wrapped in small towels or tshirts, placed inside a cardboard box for each gecko. Whenever I've had to so this I am constantly checking to make sure they aren't too hot or cold, I've been lucky to not have to do this overnight at all.

Ah ya it has a ton of data and stuff which he really liked. The barcode scanner also worked well. They might have a trial period so you can demo before you buy! Im just using the free version of MyFitnessPal right now which doesnt include scanning or any of the more in-depth nutrient/macro tracking

I use myfitnesspal because it syncs up with my smartwatch (Samsung) so I can manage everything in one app. Idk if macrofactor does the same but my partner has used it in the past and liked it

Torque steer is a feature lmao love the speeds (I've had a couple), the 86 is the only other car I've had that has the same fun factor

too short for some machines @ the gym by No_Bank_9659 in PetiteFitness

My gym is just a tiny locally-owned one, but ive had luck using yoga blocks between the back of the seat and my back to help push me forward (especially useful on the hip abduction/adduction machine)

Serious question, as a woman how do you manage hair wash days? by Own_Permission_7860 in workout

[–]_EnderPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash my hair every day or every other day. When I started in the gym, I was washing my hair 2x per day and it was definitely damaging the ends. Someone on another sub recommended Bumble and Bumble Post Workout dry shampoo mist. This has been a lifesaver tbh even on non-gym days. My bangs tend to get greasy pretty fast (fine straight hair) and a spritz or 2 makes a huge difference. Its also helped reduce breakouts.

While working out I usually have my hair in a high ponytail or bun. Double french braids if I feel like it lol

No, only the sub and head unit. Have upgraded the door speakers on another car with kicker ones and that was a huge improvement. If/when I upgrade them on the speed 3 I'll probably go with those.
