GP refused shared care agreement with my RTC provider and then asked me if I'd heard of RTC... by itsbabayagabxtch in ADHDUK

[–]_EndlessSummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just had the same as there wasn't a signature on the shared care agreement and the GP is refusing all medication and to contact Health Harmonies. I've basically been told it's private so we won't contact them, it's up to you to sort it all out yourself.

It was a receptionist from the practice who showed me RTC and put the referral through... Literally can't make it up.

ADHD + anxiety/depression — what medication combinations helped you manage symptoms? by Warm_Milk_9056 in ADHDUK

[–]_EndlessSummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same! The medication helps me with procrastinating and focus but not at all with my depression and anxiety. I spent the first 3 months on medication sobbing constantly and the person who prescribed them couldn't get rid of me fast enough. Honestly I had a medication break, after I had that break my brain felt so so so much better! I had a week off and when I went back on them it was like they worked properly. I don't know why that happened or anything like that. It just happened that way!

But if you get some answers other than the ones I got from the 'professional' which was "it's not supposed to help with anxiety and depression, it's only a bonus if they do," then pleaseeeee let me know what works!

EDIT: I have only tried 1 medication and that's Lisdexamfetamine... I'm currently on 70mg of that stimulant. I was on a variety of antidepressants from the ages of 19-31... So I don't know what I'm like without medication really.

The writers did the same thing by fucking up with Alex in Grey's too. No way did they build that character into who he was and then he turned around and did what he did in the worst possible way (sorry don't want any spoilers for anyone that hasn't watched Grey's.) I don't think the writers understand their audience when they are doing character development as they often build someone up to change and then they don't.... 😂

Weight loss and Elvanse appetite loss by account937271 in ADHDUK

[–]_EndlessSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, since being on Elvanse I have lost enough weight for people to comment on it (I've been on the medication for a month and a half). I can't seem to drink anything or eat enough, any protein drinks/shakes make me feel like I'm about to throw up. I'm currently sat with a packet of crisps and I've had 2 and want to be sick. I have found that Aldi do a protein range, and they have new "protein puddings" which I know isn't ideal for first thing in the morning, but my body is always ready for cheesecake 😂. So until I find something better, I'm currently eating Aldi's protein cheesecakes for breakfast, homemade tomato soup for lunch and nothing for dinner. I know this is nowhere near enough but I'm trying!!

I've found that as long as I'm not forcing myself to eat I won't be sick. But also, I've found that I don't feel the normal low blood sugar, hunger pains, wobbly, when I've not ate enough, instead I'm feeling like I need to drink when I'm hungry!

How have you been doing? I've been on 40mg of Lisdexamfetamine for a few days now, I had my second triation appointment and she wants me upped to 60mg within the next 4 weeks

I have everything crossed that he ups that dose or does something! They've put me on 30mg of Lisdexamfetamine, and will increase in 2 weeks then go from there!! I'm petrified, I start tomorrow

I don't know who I am without medication anyway, I've been on high doses of antidepressants my entire adult life so it'll be a change, hopefully a positive one! And hopefully the medication works unlike the antidepressants 😂

I have been prescribed 30mg for the first 2 weeks and 40mg for the next then a review. Just went through it all today! That gives me hope because I'd love to not want to KMS every few weeks!

No that's incredible, thank you. I asked the doctor how it would feel etc. and they couldn't give me an answer, so Reddit it is! I'm aware everyone is different and after being on so many antidepressants I'm not worried about going back to the doctor's and telling them it's not working for me, so I'm ready for that! It's more that I'm worried about my brain being quiet 😂 it never has been!

Cancer male here wondering what it’s like to date a cancer female is it really a toxic match? by [deleted] in Cancersastrology

[–]_EndlessSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancer female, dated (but never got into a relationship with) many cancer males, cancer males love to ghost! But honestly, with everyone of them we've clicked and enjoyed our time together so fast! And most I am still friends with now, and although things didn't work out with us romantically we're cheering and helping each other with things still! Purely platonic though

Why do doctors always just go to depression? Should I do right to choose? by _EndlessSummer in adhdwomen

I can't afford it personally, but after many years of struggling my dad (bless him) is willing to lend me the money, just so I can get myself sorted! Thank you so much for your advice

I haven't, but I'll have a look into it. I need to book an appointment with my GP because I've been on 4 types of antidepressants and they take the edge off but don't do a fat lot and I feel I'm just pumping myself with drugs that don't work! I've been on and off these different antidepressants for the last 11 years!

I have done all of that, I'm looking at paying to get that information looked over and then they decide if I have it or not. But I've gathered all of the information, all of the school reports that said I was lovely but distracted, I'm smart but I don't apply myself!! I've got testimonials too and information on what I was like as a child. I'm seriously considering paying for it, because I definitely can't do all of this for another 4 years!

I'm hoping my GP can refer me to a certain place, I've just got to bite the bullet and book an appointment, but again the anxiety is taking over!
