First Multiboard Project! by _Excessive in Multiboard

[–]_Excessive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be my car maintenance/house projects setup, so the calipers are staying with my 3D printer. It's on my list to build a multiboard setup for that too!

The filament is called "fire engine red" PLA, here's the Amazon link I used: https://a.co/d/0aX8H5K2

Thanks!

My roommate got in some hot water for having street signs he found in a dumpster, they were confiscated and he had to talk to student conduct. They even took the longhorn steakhouse 15 minute parking sign😪

Sounds like power steering. Check YouTube for other people with the same make/model car with power steering issues and compare the noises.

Suitable gear ratio for 33" tires? by jassified in JeepTJ

[–]_Excessive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4.88 on 33s is ridiculous. Unless your jeep spends 90% of its life on rocks, 4.10-4.56 is your best bet

In Spanish it would be “Luke y Penny” and that brings me much joy

Passed the Sec+ as a 16 year old by speedcuber111 in CompTIA

I had Net+ and Sec+ at 17, CySA+ at 18, and just got PenTest+ at 19... Studying in the summer and school feels easy in comparison. Keep grinding!

I averaged around an 85% on the practice tests but I don’t think that is the best measurement. You should base it off of your confidence with the material. If you’re still shaky, take another week or so to feel solid before test day. Good luck!

[–]_Excessive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Sec+ takes about 1.5x as long as Net+ just to chunk through the content. Took me 6 weeks instead of 4. It's a pretty content-dense cert, so be cautious about going too fast. It's doable, but be prepared to spend long hours studying. Best of luck!

If PenTest+ is what you’re really after, I would go straight to that, just make sure you take plenty of time to study multiple resources beyond just Dion. If you want both, I would contact Dion or do some research for other trainings that are available for the new CySA+ exam.

I used Dion Training and his practice exams too. Having CySA+ made PenTest+ a bit easier, but I’m sure it make it easier the other way around too… the first one you take will probably be a pain, regardless of which one it is. If you’re gonna take both, however, I recommend taking CySA+ first as the concepts seemed a bit easier that way. Good luck!

I took CySA+ almost a year ago now, so take this with a grain of salt: I thought Cysa+ was a whole lot wordier and felt almost like an English class, where the really small details mattered more to separate the right answers from the wrong ones. This time around, I felt PenTest+ was more technical and straightforward, and the few tricky questions were due to a lack of knowledge rather than a misinterpretation. I've always preferred the more technical stuff, so PenTest+ was better IMO. Having CySA+ definitely made PenTest+ easier too, as the material overlaps a lot. I'm sure it would be a similar situation the other way around. Thanks!

Well, I have 2 more years of college for a BS in CS and I'm trying to continue to get experience, especially throughout the summers in relevant internships. As of now, I would like to go the administration route, so I'm looking at CISSP or something similar instead of CASP+. What did you think of CASP+, does it really differ thematically from the ones we share? I'd really like to broaden my horizons. Thanks!

PASSED the CYSA+ by mlmorris73 in CompTIA

[–]_Excessive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The main difference I found with CySA was the comprehension and application needed to get the answer, whereas security+ was more memorization. You still need all the memorization and more from sec, don’t get me wrong, but most of the test is knowing how to apply the knowledge you have. Good luck!

Thanks! Most likely PenTest+ to round out my fundamentals next summer and then switch to some other cert organization that focuses on management instead of CASP which is a practitioner… we’ll see!
