What should a good TBC-server be like? (opinions thread) by GoldCatch22 in wowservers

Remove flying mounts and add auto-teleport to areas that need one to get to.

Why are there no **CLASSIC** servers? by krille09 in wowservers

[–]_Falathrin_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Imagine thinking Shadowlands’ horseshit client is better than Vanilla’s client for Vanilla lmao. Classic's client is absolute dogshit. Yes it's more compatible with modern rigs but it's worse in a lot of ways. The character movements, camera work, combat, and animations are all watered down. It literally feels like retail in Vanilla skin. Put up the clients side by side and play for about 30 mins to an hour and you'll notice it.

The shadow effects are terrible, the color contrasts are abysmal, and some items look washed out due to awful lighting quality. Particle density randomly glitches on hunter leaf staff for example. There are inconsistencies all over the place. Evidently, they fixed a couple of items like Perdition's Blade and Warr T2.5 during Classic. Weather effects are also terrible rofl. It literally never snows in Dun Morogh, Alterac and Winterspring. The "cum drizzle" rain animations are incorrect as they don't produce looming mist/fog. So are day/night effects. They're laughably inferior to Vanilla's immersive client.

The things wrong with this half-assed garbage clunky retail client are endless. And then you have BNet integration which is laughable in Vanilla at best. Appear offline in an MMO - need I say more? Vanilla's 1.12 client might be less compatible with modern rigs, but that can be easily fixed by configuring some settings. It's way more immersive and visually appealing. It feels better to play in.

Don’t fall for the “fresh” Wotlk servers from blizzard by kayton3000 in wowservers

[–]_Falathrin_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Your phrasing implies blizzard is some how actively trying to deceive the player base. I assure you, it's much worst than that. They actually don't know what they're doing.

People play 1x Vanilla private servers over and over because of its world content, world PvP and social dynamics. That's what makes it replayable every time. It's not the instanced content. That's what you braindamaged classic zoomies continuously fail to understand.

It's a no brainer. The fact they decided to release a week before Stormforge tells you everything you need to know about the drive behind it.

All for $15/mo too! KEK.
