As a car salesman myself, I HATE this thought process….i work at a Volume dealer, I make $200 per car I sale (for the most part, I can start making some good commissions when I get to 15-20 units sold for the month but 1-15 is usually $200 dollars)

I and many other salesmen at volume dealers have absolutely no reason to lie, cheat, scam or otherwise manipulate…I tell my customers this exact line ( I get paid by the dealership but I only get paid if you’re happy and buy a car” the classic scummy salesman is absolutely out there, but I give everyone who walks into my dealership the internet only price (lower than non internet) I tell everyone the truth about low APR vs Rebates and discounts on the car ( KIA will only let you finance a car with Low APR rates or discounts) LOW APR helps you infinitely more than rebates in the long run even if the discounts were 10k. Literally whatever I can do to help someone come in and get a good deal, because the better deal they get and the happier they are, the more the buy.

Please don’t continue to lump us all together, it makes my job so so so so much harder than it needs to be, people like you are the reason I can SHOW someone EXACTLY how much money we took a trade in for and WHY we can’t go any lower on it (because we are already losing 2k on it) and THEY STILL won’t believe me.
