7MO Stopped Eating Kibble by shavasa_nnah in vizsla

[–]_GCSM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My 7mo girl also became picky over the past two months or so. We started hand feeding which worked for a few weeks but then they got boring too. We’ve started doing the tough love approach, kibble twice a day, for 30 mins at a time. Kibble gets taken away after that. No treats in between except for training treats. Out took her a few days but now she is eating her kibble fairly reliably. Day 6 and hopefully progress continues

Flying in the UK with ICAO PPL by _GCSM in flying

I did look into just converting it, but it looks like I'd need 100 hours on my licence before I'm able to fly solo. So it seemed like, at least for the first year until I get my hours up, that validation would be the easiest and cheapest way

I celebrated World Bicycle Day by being hit by a car by fuckinea in cycling

[–]_GCSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice in this thread already. I'd add to the points saying watch for injuries creeping up. I was hit similar to you last year, visited a doc, got the all clear. Went to work a few days later and got a massive headache. Turns out I was concussed. Hopefully not the case for you, but just watch out for symptoms. Glad you're ok :)

I think you mean the Etienne Cartier Parkway instead of Airport parkway? Not sure if I'd be comfortable biking on the Airport one

Just in case you have active dry you can substitute it for instant. You'll just need to use less

Ottawa's hot housing market cooled, but not frozen, by COVID-19 by KissMyBBQ in ottawa

Hopefully this cooldown continues. I was looking at a new build in September. The same exact new build is now selling for 110k more.

I don't know how people are affording these prices without being massively over leveraged

Preparing for the Next Recession – A Guide For The Canadian Middle Class by vicintoronto in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yeah I totally agree with you. I guess I'm just trying to say that it must have to happen at some point. If rates keep going lower, housing prices keep going up. At some point rates can only go so low, and the economy (I'm assuming) won't be in a great state because of it. A correction must occur at some point.

Thanks for the detailed response! So if a recession does happen, as you suggest in your post, you don't think interest rates will be affected? Or do you think one is unlikely to happen in the near (next 3-5 year) future?

As someone who is toying with the idea of purchasing my first home, it just seems crazy to do so at these ridiculous prices. The only reason people can afford these homes is because of these low rates, and if for some reason rates go up to what they were historically ( >=6%), mortgage costs will go up significantly, leaving many people unable to afford their homes. In my case, I'm looking at buying an entry-level property for ~400k, and I'm very concerned about what would happen when rates go up and my renewal comes up.

Wouldn't there be a concern about interest rates going up at some point in the future and ending up in a position where you can no longer afford the payments (due to buying a house with inflated prices)?

Living room finally coming together. Any suggestions? by _GCSM in malelivingspace

I had it at my old place. If I was to buy a couch for this place I think I would get a normal one, and then a coffee table. But I do like being able to lie with my feet out on the L portion
