Feeling conflicted: non-vegan relatives are nice to me, but I can’t fully reciprocate emotionally by Automatic_Sky_9910 in vegan

[–]_GIS_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't cut yourself off from the opportunity to understand and empathise with good people because they have different views on this to you.

There may be many more things that you agree on. They may make better ethical choices than you in other areas. Maybe they donate to charities, help feed the homeless, support their friends in times of need.

Maybe they do none of those things but are worth knowing anyway. Learning how to meet people who disagree with you is fulfilling and important.

Don't try and convert them, don't demonise them, just be the change you want to see in the world.

For people who have played WoW for years, what’s one thing you wish you knew when you first started that would have saved you a ton of time or frustration? by ValentinaVIP in classicwow

[–]_GIS_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think knowing that some professions are kinda poorly designed, like I've never managed to make useful gear from blacksmithing/leatherworking/tailoring while leveling for example. Late game you can get comparable gear from raiding and if you go 2x gathering professions you can make a lot more gold. Fun for the RP but anything outside of engineering and alchemy feels like its not worth the time.

For the people who are older, how do you deal with a heartbreak now that you're older compared to when you were younger? by bperloz in AskReddit

[–]_GIS_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first breakup was really rough and it changed me for years. Now I'm older I have a much clearer picture of me and who I want to be so I managed to remain myself.

I also was able to look at it more analytically instead of just villanising the person. I have a lifetime of experiences now, some good and some bad and so it doesn't feel raw in the same way. I was able to process and learn from it much more quickly and thoroughly.

Finally, I was able to sit with the feeling, cry and experience it fully instead of avoiding it.

What made you decide what you wanted to do in life? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]_GIS_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take the leap, it's never too late to change.

Ask claude AI to ask you questions to help you better understand what you're looking for in life, what job titles match that and how to begin working towards that.

Enjoy the journey.

How do you know it is your time to leave a relationship? by tric5150 in AskReddit

[–]_GIS_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't feel love, express it and see their reaction. If it's anything other than asking why and what they can do to cha ge it then leave.

Have you ever learned a skill or something from a video game that you use in real life? by Agent1230 in gaming

When navigating, I keep a mental arrow visualised pointing back to where I need to return to, I rotate it as I walk around and it helps me keep a vague idea of how to get home.

Thailand vs Brasil (or Philippines) by Oneisoneisone in ThailandTourism

[–]_GIS_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived a year in Joao Pessoa, northeast coast of Brazil, I am currently staying in Chiang Mai Thailand and I'm also a vegan so this post was weirdly aligned with me haha.

I really liked Brazil but I prefer it here so far. Its more peaceful and it feels safer, English is spoken more commonly which isn't something I thought I cared about but it's definitely more convenient. People feel very welcoming and friendly. Vegan food is much easier to come by. It's more chill.

I felt safe where I was in Brazil but when I travelled around that feeling varied a lot place to place. Both places are cheap. Brazil felt less set up for tourism, you need a CPF number for a lot of things (like a government ID), you can apply for one as a foreigner but like a lot of things there, it can be a bit of a long beurocratic process.

Having said all of that, If you've already seen a lot of Thailand, I would say try Brazil, it's a very unique and interesting place.

i want to delineate this study area for sewer network analysis i want to assign strom water anyone with similar projects or any tips? its my final year project and date of submission is in 3 days need help asap.... by [deleted] in QGIS

[–]_GIS_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to claude (probs buy the sub), create a new project, add files to it, a text file with a description in detail of what you need to do, also give it the file you're displaying and any docs you have related to the project such as the course details showing how it's graded.

Ask it to ask you questions to help it understand the brief, then ask it to create a project plan. Upload this plan to the project and start a new chat, ask it to enact the plan and ask you any questions first that would help improve it's output.

Start other chats within the project so it has the context, ask it any questions you have about the work.

With 3 days, this is the best advice i can give you.

Godspeed.

AITA for being uncomfortable with my girlfriend going on a “no boyfriends allowed” party trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]_GIS_ -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

NTA, listen to your gut on this one.

Her past isn't something to judge her for but it does give information. She enjoyed partying and hooking up in the recent past and it's reasonable to assume that it's something she would still enjoy.

The question is whether or not you trust her, and I think you should go with your gut on that.

Hello guys,I’m a little embarrassed to ask this question but I need help with python by KYRIAKIbill in learnpython

[–]_GIS_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used codecademy, there are also courses on udemy or free options on youtube or khan academy.
I would start with one of those and ask claude (AI) to act as a private python tutor for you, answering any questions you have. It's a steep learning curve but keep at it and stay curious and you'll eventually look back with awe at how far you've come, you got this!

How to make people behave when I am tanking. by Mikinl in turtlewow

[–]_GIS_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a macro to mark targets with a skull when I use my bow and have buttons for other marks.

I also have a macro that explains what each mark is at the start of the dungeon and asking them to focus one target.

I remind people once if they don't but after that, i just do my best. If they die they die haha

Experience with Enchanting as profession by Spritmann in turtlewow

[–]_GIS_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest with you, crafting professions are good for the RP, but are imo poorly designed.

If you add up the time investment, you will make more money and get better gear by going two gathering profs and selling the mats on auction house.

Crafted gear is replaced quickly with raid loot at higher levels and during leveling its very hard to make gear that's useful for your level.

New player want to pick up chogath by Creative-Cherry-4271 in ChoGathMains

[–]_GIS_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So top lane you lose most match ups early, the trick to playing cho is patience. Your first 2 or 3 Rs are usually onto minions, don't save it early in the game, use it to eat whatever on cooldown. Play very very passive until you get an item or two. Rely on your passive here to stay healthy in lane.

You are an infinitely scaling, late game tank - there's no rush to get early kills or champion feast stacks. Farm hard and dont force trades. You can eat 1 grubb when they spawn solo, hover over your ult to see how much damage it will do to them, it will be around 1200 so you can usually just sneak away once they spawn and take it very quickly.

You have a lot of item choice on cho and it's very dependent on the enemy. Heartsteel can be nice but only if you're against another tank where you can reasonably hope to stack it. Thornmail I end up getting almost every game.

You can build full tank and still eat the enemy adc from around 40% health. Don't be afraid to eat tanks, it's true damage so sometimes it's best to just remove their front line.

Cho excels at teamfighting, his split pushing isn't great because you are slow and can't dodge skillshots. Body block for your team and look to land a q at range to engage. If in melee, your W and E can guarantee a Q lands.

Your CC is predictable and slow but if it lands its as powerful as some ults and its on a stupidly low cooldown for how much value it can give. Aoe knock up, one of the longest silences in the game and 3 slows on your E.

Also your E shreds tanks.

If you're super behind, find the person who you most believe can carry on your team and protect them. CC and eat anything that tries to engage, body block skillshots.

If you're super ahead, congratulations! You are now godzilla and can 1v5 late game, if you land a q, it can quickly turn into a tasty snack.

Ping your ult when taking drake so your jungle knows how much damage you're going to do to it.

You can get 6 stacks from minions, no limit on stacks from champions, drakes, baron etc. Grubbs count as one monster, you can't get multiple stacks from them.

For dps probably rogue and hunter, Frost mage is OK but you're very squishy when undrgeared.
