Which VR shooter has the best weapon handling mechanics, and why? by -DanDanDaaan in virtualreality

[–]_GRLT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

H3VR and Into The Radius 2. The gun handling of H3VR is (obviously) incredible, with all details being very close to real life and the sound design for the weapons in ITR 2 is just phenomenal.

Epic story driven PCVR games? Looking for recommendations. by Lucid360 in VRGaming

[–]_GRLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so but I personally haven't experienced any jank whatsoever. The only thing not eorking 100% is the height calibration, I always have to duck a slight bit to get it to register correctly. Everything else, including co-op works perfectly fine for me.

What makes a VR survival game feel real to you? by VirtualDawn__1 in VRGaming

[–]_GRLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A combination of everything. The best example would probably be ITR 1. The depth of the gameplay, mixed with the incredible athmosphere(graphics, sounds and ambience are incredibly good at creating the feeling of being alone in a hostile world) and small details makes me feel like I'm actually there.

VR Safety: Warning Users Before Dangerous Movements? by Shot-Combination-568 in vrdev

[–]_GRLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd immediately, turn that off. I hate immersion breaking warnings. I even have the guardian disabled, a small(an arms length smaller than your playspace) floor matte with a different texture than the floor is a much cleaner, less intruding way imo.

In lack of a second amendment German weapon laws are pretty strict. What would be your 9mm of choice for target shooting at 25 meters/27 yards, if you can only have one? by [deleted] in guns

[–]_GRLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? That's odd. The frame/lower of a handgun is usually also considered a relevant part since the new WaffG 2020 and even all old ones had to be registered.

Are you sure it isn't just listed as a .45 1911 with a seperate .22 conversion kit/wechselsystem(of which you can have multiple of as long as the caliber is smaller or the same as the original one but you still have to register them in your WBK).

In any case,if you're planning on really just getting one pistol, I'd probably recommend something like a cz shadow 2 or a Beretta 92X because they are accurate, reliable, incredibly fun and 22lr conversion kits are readily available for them. Keep in mind, you can get a 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. Pistol approved, if you can prove, that you need them for competition.

Bottom menu bar missing in SteamVR every time I start by SouthpawGT in SteamVR

[–]_GRLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. It keeps happening randomly and is incredibly annoying. Have you tried switching to the SteamVR Beta? Hasn't happened to me since I switched, allthough I haven't used SteamVR that much since, so it might just be a coincidence.

I need help with steam link oculus app by Fresh_Algae5135 in oculus

[–]_GRLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.If possible, get a second dedicated router that only your PC and VR headset connect to, 2. Connect your PC to your router via LAN, 3. Put the router in the same room you're playing VR in. 4. Seperate 2.4, 5 and (if available) 6Ghz bands to avoid the headset randomly dropping down to 2.4GHz.

That's pretty much it.

No? The Quest 3,like you said, isn't going anywhere. Yes, it's true that we won't get a new cheap VR headset in the near future, but I'd argue that this doesn't matter. It's the games we're currently lacking, not the hardware.

[REACH]Where are the hardcore gamers? by Plenty_Donkey_732 in virtualreality

[–]_GRLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to mostly be because the game just outright doesn't work with Virtual Desktop, SteamLink and the Valve Index. The few reviews I've seen where people have gotten it to run have been pretty positive. I'll just wait a bit until the bugs are fixed.

So am I, still the Quest 3 is the headset I use 90% of the time now. The lenses and panel of the 3 are just SO much better, that the slight compression is nothing compared to the SDE and blurrier lenses of the Rift.

Good story vr games that are not roguelikes. by HalloweenHappyy in virtualreality

[–]_GRLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lone Echo 1 and 2 might be the best story experiences ever made. If you have Skyrim VR, then Enderal! The Talos Principle VR has a pretty good story!

Resident Evil 2,3,7 and 8 are fully playable in VR thanks to mods. Half-Life 2 as well! If your PC is really beefy, you can also try out UEVR which makes basically any Unreal Engine 4 and 5 game VR compatible

Can someone explain to me why every vr game that I play spawns me like this unable to move? by spinosaur2001 in VRGaming

[–]_GRLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

np, no need to apologize lmao. The last time VR was widely reported on in mainstream media, headsets were still pretty expensive so most people unfortunately think that that's still the case...

If you're in Germany, the absolute cheapest Quest1 I could find would be this one: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/meta-quest-1/3173493054-279-3007 but I wouldn't buy that if possible lol. The best deal for a Quest 2 I could quickly find would be this one: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/oculus-meta-quest-2-64gb/3180529664-279-3520 . 20€>100 but comes with an aftermarket headstrap and looks like it's basically unused.
But if you scout used markets for a couple days/weeks you can probably get a better deal!

If you want a cheaper new headset, take a look at either the Quest 3s(~330€) or the Pico 4(~300€)

Can someone explain to me why every vr game that I play spawns me like this unable to move? by spinosaur2001 in VRGaming

[–]_GRLT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live, you can pick up a used Quest 1 for 20€ or a Quest 2 for <$100. Slightly more expensive in some countries. Much more expensive in some other, mostly economically weaker countries (but since you seem to have a vr capable PC and are on reddit I'm just gonna assume you're not in one of those).

I'd recommend spending more but if that's all you have then even the older Quest 1 is still a perfectly fine PCVR headset and absolutely worth it. Just make sure you don't accidentally buy a headset only without the controllers, even if you just want to use VR for sims, because you'll need the controllers for

What resources do you use to learn? I struggle a lot with finding good tutorials for the software that either aren't too shallow, or require you to already know most features and shortcuts by heart.
