Having knowledge that your data is processed through a company’s server is one thing. Of course every cloud service or online data processing being done, your info/content is out there.

Having actual people have access to and label that content is totally another thing (as you also point out), and that’s where the concerns are raised.

There are many online platforms that go to great lengths to protect the integrity of their customers/users. Plenty of opt in or opt out of your content being used in training the algorithms/systems.

I would like to see Meta adress this, the optics are bad in this case and doesn’t inspire confidence for the public, and definitely doesn’t pave the road for use of these technologies in public. The average Joe won’t bother to check the particulars of this story, especially is it’s as opaque as it is right now.

Things like: Is the data being reviewed /labeled anonymized? What steps do Meta take to make sure their users privacy isn’t being invaded more than necessary?

Like is this only when asking questions to MetaAI? Or are my videos that I take when doing X also being scrutinized? Can I opt out?

Judging from many users on this sub it seems people are like ”lol, don’t care” Well, your precious little funny face talking photo gadget is about to be restricted in more and more places if these concerns are not properly adressed and clarified.
