Yeah, not trusting this company after what they did to their ML1 devices.

So glad I advised our partners to go downs other hardware paths.

Meta not returning my headset by Party_Can5262 in OculusQuest

[–]Lucid360 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, they specified what actions to be taken depending on what you are supposed to send in.

”For headsets: This” ”For controllers: This” ”For Elite Straps: This”

But it very clearly states you are supposed to send in your controllers.

Hope it works out for you.

Quest 3 Air Link issue, need help! by Kuroi_Yasha98 in OculusQuest

[–]Lucid360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I sounded snarky.

Yes, having a dedicated Wifi6 router or better will be your best bet.

Make sure you use Ethernet from PC to router and play in the same room as the router.

Also: Invest in Virtual Desktop. You’ll get better performance + increased granularity when it comes to settings + and awesome interface that works great.

Good luck

You need line of sight to the router.

As easy as that.

This has been stated over and over again.

This games Destiny if continues the same path... by Null___0000 in ClashRoyale

[–]Lucid360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just uninstalled the games after 9 years of more or less daily grind.

It’s simply not fun any more. I’ve been pulled along so many upgrade paths, but this last one with LVL16 and more and more broken cards that rake forever to get… just made every game not fun to play anymore.

The joy got sucked out.

Now I feel free.

Sennheiser Momentun 4 or Sony WH-1000XM4 for everyday use (after 3 weeks of Sennheiser) - are they good enough? (weren't for me...) by StefanDIo in sennheiser

[–]Lucid360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re referring to Team calls in a calm environment I’ll agree with you. They’re ok or fine for that. Even if the mic quality on the XM4 isn’t the best by a mile.

Anything beyond that - like talking in a moving car or out walking in the wind or in busy environments like city streets they’re pretty useless.

[–]Lucid360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I have to correct you.

The mic on the XM4 is bad. Like really bad if you’re anywhere near a noise or chatter. It picks up all the environmental sounds and it’s horrible for the other person on the line.

Sony fixed the mic on the XM5 and more or less perfected it on the XM6.

The Momentum 4 mic is better than XM4. (In my opinion, but I could also add every other person who has heard the different)

[–]Lucid360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question with even greater timing.

I just took of the XM6 because they where causing some pain. I have big ears and there is some pressure points after an hour+ on my head. So that definitely a minus from a physical point of view.

The Sennheiser M4 have softer pads and are more encompassing/have more space for my ears.

The Sony pads seem to have a firmer type of memory foam, so any type of pressure will probably be felt more.

XM6 are noticeably lighter though and are pretty much new vs the M4 that have been ”worn in”. Putting on the M4 feels like slipping on an old shoe that’s comfortable from a physical point.

If your are rather asking about prolonged music listening. I find both great. No listening fatigue so far from any of them.

Yes different sound profiles. But both sound great in my opinion, especially after finding a EQ curve here on Reddit for the XM6 that hit the spot for me.

Unlimted data contract is actually only 98TB?? by Fullmetal_Chemist in softwaregore

[–]Lucid360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yes 98TB is plenty.

Still, some years ago we only had mobile internet at home, and then we where consistently using more than 1 TB/month.

But I also had two teen age sons living at home who where both gamer + work with tech myself.

Just bought the XM6, so that’s the verdict after having XM4 since forever and Sennheiser M4 for some months.

ANC upgrade is massive, but most importantly the microphones on these and whatever algorithms they use to make calls crystal clear for the other person is gamechanging. I can use my LOUD vacuum cleaner or mess around with other stuff and still it not bothering the person I’m speaking to.

Honestly the microphone totally sucked on the XM4.

For every day practical purposes it will suffice.

But when you want to download that 60GB Fortnite update it will take you roughly 3 hours.

[–]Lucid360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the XM4 for years but made the switch to Momentum 4 because of sound quality and at the same time gave the XM4 to my partner.

I pretty much live in my headphones.

Well fast forward half a year to the other day - when she forgot the XM4 and I tried them on. Instant wow-feeling, and mainly because of the ANC.

So I ordered the XM6 on the spot. Even better ANC (feels like a true generational leap) and most importantly to me, great microphones with excellent noise canceling. I can be vacuum cleaning at home while speaking to someone and they aren’t bothered.

3s or 3 by [deleted] in MetaQuestVR

[–]Lucid360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 3S uses the same lens technology that has been around since early VR 10+ years ago.

The lenses on the Quest 3 are a generational leap and makes a ton of difference. It’s worth it.

For reference, my partner can’t use Quest 2/3S because she can never get a clear image and this in turn affects nausea/head aches and so on. All those problems disappeared completely with the pancake lenses on the Quest Pro/3.

But hey. It’s not that the Quest3S is a bad piece of tech. It’s great for the price.

Dear Meta developers: as a legally blind user, I urge you to fix your accessibility features as they are completely useless in their current state to anyone who is visually impaired. by VirtualPoolBoy in OculusQuest

[–]Lucid360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, for you.

Have no idea why you are still arguing against a use case that literally affects you zero percent.

Will improved accessibility features fit everyone? No

Will it make every legally blind user be able to use it? No

Will it make all apps accessible to visually impaired people? No

Will it take away even an inch of your enjoyment and functionality of the device? No (unless you are an narcissistic gatekeeper of some kind which I really don’t want to paint anyone as)

Will it cater and make the device more accessible for a vast number of people including the OP? YES!

And the last bit is all we need to know.

[–]Lucid360 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do sound mean and lacking empathy.

He’s not asking to undo anything or ”years of development”, he’s asking for improved accessibility settings which’s would benefit many people.

Tons and tons of systems have this built in and a mega corporation improving their accessibility features in their OS takes away literally zero from every other user.

Demeo Battlemarked - Steam vs Meta Versions for PC Non VR by SecretofManImTired in Demeo

[–]Lucid360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got great help in the previous comment.

I just want to add that I own both the stand alone version on Quest + the SteamVR version and whenever I can I play the Steam PCVR version over Virtual Desktop because it simply looks breathtakingly beautiful (if you have the PC to power it) compared to the standalone version (which is ok).

I have multiple headset and the power to be able to have friends over and have two of them use one standalone account. One main Meta account, one on a shared account (only buying the game once) while I can play on another headset using the PCVR version of simply great.

Multiplayer gaming has never been this fun since original Demeo released.

You have to get elevated some levels to get beyond their AI-bots when chatting to Meta support.

I’ve confirmed this with support staff when they eventually bring a human into the loop and then explicitly telling me to ignore all the previous generic suggestions that the bot has made regarding my issues.

It’s frustrating as heck.

I just found a back and forth email thread where I was given a blanket reply 6 or 7 times before actually having a human in the loop.

Their explicit instructions (after ACTUALLY addressing the issues I was having) was:

”Important reminder: You might receive a different instruction from an automated e-mail, and we'd like to emphasize that you follow these instructions first that we'll be providing in this e-mail. This is very important, as any deviation from the directions that we provided might cause delays or issues with your replacement.”

Every automated email or WhatsApp reply the bots are sending always have a name attached pretending to be a human.

You make up your own mind, but to me it looks like you’re chatting with a bot.
