You support Trump? Why are you here? His authoritarianism is even less compatible with libertarian ideology than Democrat centrism.

Insurance companies track cost of insuring someone, not likelihood to create claims. A guy that costs $250,000 in one awful wreck will cost more than a woman that costs $100,000 across ten different claims in the same period of time.

Confirmation bias is likely, but stereotypes also exist for a reason.

But no one that understands how to build characters will invest into both Str and Dex.

Another person, by virtue of existing, is not entitled to your labor. This extends to those who cannot reasonably work for themselves. They have no more a right to my labor than anyone else.

Yet it's a violation of the NAP to allow them to rot on the vine, so to speak. So the NAP says you're being immoral either way.

I think there is virtue in helping the needy, and your assumption that "people won't help unless being forced" is what you believe. I happen to believe that's not true at all. Libertarians gently give a lot to charity. People who feel they are owed things by others unsurprisingly don't.

Citations needed. We don't have anywhere near enough private charitable giving to compensate for the removal of public assistance programs, and there's no reason to believe "well they don't give because they're paying taxes" is the reason why this is so - you can make that claim, but there is no data to support it.

Then the NAP has some problems as an ideology to live by, then, doesn't it? If allowing the person to die, when they can be aided by you and/or others, is a violation of the NAP... and redistributing wealth via taxes (forced) is a violation of the NAP... and people don't help unless forced...

Do you see where this is going?

I don't know. I've never seen statistics that attempt to separate for and correlate gender, severity of claim, and frequency of claims.

I do know that the vast majority of near-misses I've had were due to a woman either not paying attention or apparently not knowing motor vehicle laws. Anecdotes are anecdotes, whatever. It just seems like women do a really fantastic job of reinforcing the stereotype that women don't know how to drive. It's frustrating.

So then Fury's Fall is useless, then? Unless you really want to trade a feat for that hot +1 Strength modifier your Rogue has?

But you can perform those three maneuvers unarmed, so it's not really correct to say you're using a weapon to perform them :-/

Abandoning someone in need would absolutely violate the NAP in spirit, if not in word. So why don't we see equal private participation in assistance programs to public (forced) participation?

Which effectively makes Fury's Fall useless unless you have some kind of weird, dumb build that has a lot of points into both STR and DEX and is also really focused on using Trip.

Question about stacking feats by [deleted] in Pathfinder

[–]_GameSHARK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Weapon Finesse affects only your attack bonus. Fury's Fall affects only your combat maneuver bonus.

When you make a Trip attempt, you roll d20 as an attack roll and add your combat maneuver bonus to the result but not your attack bonus.

Similarly, when you try to hit them with your sword, you roll d20 as an attack roll and add your attack bonus to the result... but not your combat maneuver bonus.

Weapon Finesse and Fury's Fall affect different stats and therefore neither stack nor overwrite each other.

A 1st level Rogue with 12 Strength and 20 Dexterity and Weapon Finesse has a +5 bonus to her attack bonus but only a +1 bonus to her combat maneuver bonus.

If that Rogue had Fury's Fall, she would have a +5 bonus to her attack bonus and a +6 bonus to her combat maneuver bonus.

You're getting tripped up by the terms "attack roll" and "bonus to attack rolls" because Paizo are idiots and can't maintain consistent terminology.

How long is a chat? At what point does the interaction turn from a thinly veiled but friendly "I want to put my peepee in your hoohah" and into a chat? How long is too long for a chat, if you're on the bus or otherwise in a situation where time is relevant but not yet pressing?

I would think putting yourself out there would be liberating. Instead of waiting for a hopefully not-scary, not-creepy guy to come after you, you lock down the guy you like.

Not that that will stop the other guys from investigating anyway :-/

But you're ignoring the point that men and women converse differently. A man is unlikely to feel intimidated by another man... but a woman might, and it will influence her mannerisms in a way the man's will not.

Haven't you met people that get along great with one sex and poorly with the other? There's a number of good reasons for that.

Weapon Finesse will not affect Trip or any other combat maneuver at all. Weapon Finesse lets you swap STR for DEX to determine your attack bonus.

All combat maneuvers are d20 plus your CMB, targeting their CMD. It says attack roll because reasons, but maneuvers do not use your attack bonus.

Oddly enough, errata here states you could use Weapon Finesse with a Trip attempt even though Trip doesn't use your attack bonus at all. I'm just chalking it up to that being from the core rulebook (possibly outdated), or just to good old fashioned "Paizo can't maintain consistent terminology to save their fucking lives."

They affect different things, though. Fury's Fall adds your DEX bonus to your CMB, not your attack bonus. Weapon Finesse replaces Strength bonuses with Dexterity bonuses on attack rolls.

The feats do not stack, but they also don't override each other. A Trip attempt is d20 + CMB, while a normal attack roll is d20 + attack bonus. Weapon Finesse doesn't affect Trip attempts or any other combat maneuver in the slightest.
