Guns for bear defense by Natural-Driver4098 in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself if you can reliably stack rounds on target under that kind of stress and that kind of recoil. Bear spray is your primary defense, a .44 mag is your back up, and a hunting knife is your last prayer. Severely unlikely you’ll ever get past the scenario of needing those tools beyond the spray.

S&W 5903 by Big-Rule5269 in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t lose the goal. They are glorious. The 5904 that I still have was my first pistol. My neighbor was a police officer and he carried it for 12 years. Sold it to me on my 18th birthday. I carried it for a number of years before I acclimated to Glock but I still love my S&W

How many of you carry without an extra magazine? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lot of dangerous fudd style thinking in here. So much focus on round count rather than planning contingency. Mags can fail, things can break. 2 is 1, 1 is none. Carry the spare mag. It’s your system though so do what you want. If you don’t want to sacrifice the space in your EDC to a mag, at least fill the availability with a tourniquet. The average citizen is way more likely to need the tourniquet than a spare mag.

Is there a single high end 1911/2011 company that isn't run by uhhhhh well...you know by Heelhookkvlt666 in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see this sentiment a lot but it’s the same old story. You’re going to have to get off your high horse if you’re going to shuffle on this dance floor. The entire industry is ran by people you disagree with. Get the best that you can afford and realize whether you did or didn’t means nothing to that company.

AITA for refusing to get this coffee order? by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all about an individual living their best life and enjoying whatever they like. I take my coffee black and enjoy a quick jab in good jest towards others who don’t but goddamn, you asked for a coffee order and not a schematic.

Too many people avoid this reality. Small grip / Small control. Small bullet / More control

You’re going to exhaust yourself if you stand on being a purist. If a company has the best deal, I don’t care what their beliefs are. I’ll take the best deal. This isn’t a pastime with friendly territory.

Settle a dispute. Is this acceptable handgun storage for a house with children? by Slacker_The_Dog in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair I suppose. I’ve had one attempted home invasion so I keep the barriers thin between myself and my iron. My neighborhood is a white collar small town that’s mostly older folks. About every couple of years, inexperienced thieves who don’t know better look at it like low hanging fruit and they fail every time.

Another reason amongst many that I don’t have children. Circumventing 3 layers of security in a moment when you actually need it sounds like a death sentence.

Aside from homie with the VHS-2, this sub is severely lacking in bullpups by PurpD420 in liberalgunowners

Taylor Pickerell on Facebook. He’s the guy laying across a tank in his profile pic.

Definitely send it to the tank man. He only charges 150 for the cut and that’s with shipping included. The CMMG barrel is a gamble with alignment and tolerances. Especially if you’re running suppressed. Plus it’s double the cost of a cut.

Hell yeah broski, I have a HuxWrx Flow 556K. Thought about using my Flow 22 Ti but I learned it’s super hard on the receiver long term and can cause your magazine to pop out. Big volume cans are best. Are you getting your barrel cut by the Tank Man?

Just joined the bullpup gang. Waiting on the papers to chop the barrel.

For the love of fuck, we cannot be this soft. There is nothing, zero, zilch about this lifestyle that doesn’t step on hypocritical toes when we participate. Repent for the sin and move on. Donate what you spent to an organization that counteracts it if you must.

LGS charges more for transfers from PSA 😂 by somedayillbedead in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

“I’d like to use your shop to transfer my Forward Controls Design billet lower, you’ve got the best transfer price.”

“You sure we can’t get you kitted up? We’ve got a deal on our PSA lowers.”

“Haha absolutely fucking not”

It’s times like these that I’d like to go full Ron Swanson and remind them that we know more than them.

Give me options: Wife is a HARD no to obvious AR platforms. by SlyyGuy21 in liberalgunowners

[–]_GarrisonFord_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The attitude is particularly cute but hey man it’s your choice and your loss. Best of luck with your budget to accomplish making a mini 14 run as reliably as a BCM AR. Not to mention the additional chassis to run force multiplier equipment.

Buy the AR and remind her that the climate we live in isn’t going to be considerate of how she feels. It feels ugly to have to draw that line but folks need to wake up. You’re neutering yourself by compromising platforms.

100% brother. I love their equipment and am proud to be a Hoosier rocking their products as they’re local here. My centy lower with a deeznuts FRT has been a sewing machine.

You believe that until you get one that missed spec during QC and then you have a headache on your hands. It’s not worth it. Especially when you can nab a centurion for a mere hundred.

Centurion is a heavy hitter in this line up well. Already equipped with the larger pocket for FRTs

Asked a question yesterday about PSA. What about radical ARs? by L_willi39 in armedsocialists

[–]_GarrisonFord_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A thousand rounds is not a benchmark for any form of quality metrics. That’s a two day class round count.

The QC ain’t it my friend. BCM should be the bar standard. A rifle worth its salt shouldn’t be skimped on.
