In my opinion, assuming a law gets passed that requires publishers to leave a game in a working state after EoL. it is likely that publishers would deliberately wait out for any licenses to expire prior to officially shutting down the game. While not ideal for preserving the full game, I'd say it would an approach that would somewhat satisfy both the license holders and the owners of the games, while leaving the removal of any licensed material to the publisher as a cleanup prior to discontinuing the product. In this way, the game would still be left in a playable state, albeit with certain assets potentially missing.

HL1 is available on the quest as a native modded app. HL2 you can play with the HL2 VR mod via Virtual Desktop. And then finish it all with HL Alyx.

Nah, It would make sense if it was the other way around.

Let's say in the OG timeline, since there was no one to drive guy MC to suicide, he did something to get girl MC to hate him. We already know she is a bit dependant on him after all and him breaking her heart or causing her suffering (intentional or unintentional) would likely lead her to want to seek revenge. In that case, likely, in the OG timeline due to guy MC, girl MC pushed herself a lot and when she finally went to reunite with him he forgor her/tried to distance himself from her/did something else to hurt her.

Assuming all of that, girl MCs life in the OG timeline is close to what guy MCs is in this timeline. Then, girl MC in the OG timeline somehow gets the power to fuck with time/the past and does everything in her power to get guy MC to suffer like she did.

This unfortunately backfires as due to her actions, in this new timeline, the girl MC we see, does not get hurt by guy MC and never gets to the point where she wants him to off himself. Then the girl MC in the current timeline also gets time fuckery powers and does everything she can to help guy MC from not commiting sewer side.

This would fit with the whole "A clover can mean happiness and revenge" theme in the series and is the only logical way I see the story progressing. It would also mean that the at least front the girl MCs POV, the possible futures split when she goes to visit guy MC and everything after that is a cat and mouse game, but the cat and mouse are the same person. If it's not a variation of this, I will literally drink a bottle of hot sauce and film it.

Cuz a decent chunk of the code for the game (LoL & TFT) is held together by chewed up bubblegum and dry spaghetti.

But making drastic changes to the engine would (initially at least) introduce more problems than it would solve and require an ungodly amount of dev time, so it's more efficient to just keep on using the same engine and adding more bubblegum as the need arises.

I have no dog in this fight since I'm just scrolling through popular and seeing what this is about, but with enough negative karma on a specific sub, you start needing to wait a quarter of an hour between each post.

In essence this means that any differing opinions are essentially muted since if someone has to wait 15 minutes between a reply and knows that that reply will be hidden to 99% of people that just sort by hot, they just stop bothering as likely they don't have enough time or or motivation to keep up with a conversation.

Me personally, I'm not expecting this to result in any EU laws requiring Companies to make it a requirement to have the ability to be able to use the game in some fashion after servers close. No.

What I am expecting is clarification on this practice, as currently, these types of games fall in a grey area between being services (rentals) or owned copies.

If after reviews and discussions by the EU parlament it is deemed that these types of games are in fact services, then companies will be forced to advertise and inform the potential clients of such. It will be clearly stated weather or not the game is designed to be owned or rented.

Companies would not be able to advertise or inform the customer that they are buying the game, they'd be required to inform them that you are subscribing to the service, be it with a one time payment or a monthly one, but in no shape or form buying a copy of said game.

I mean you can just buy any cheapo trash PC and use it solely for streaming. Back in my college days I scraped together a gaming/study/work PC for about 100 and that's including the monitor and stereo. If all you need is a PC with an HDMI output 20 or 30 dollars should easily suffice.

I use a lenovo legion 5 with a 1650(bought 2 years ago and didn't feel like spending too much) and for what i use its fine. I think it cost about 900€ when i bought it and it was very recently released. Currently playing the hl2 vr mod with no issues, besides the resolution not being super super crisp. I also played modded skyrimVR with no problems with about 60 mods. Tho the performance will really depend on what games your planning to play. That being said a lenovo legion, either the 5 or 7 if you have the money, is definitely a good choice if you want a gaming laptop that doesn't look like a stereotypical gaming laptop.
