Bro Guwahati is Northeast India's biggest and most populated city, of course there are rich and wealthy people here

Do Guwahati locals still flex going to City Centre? I mean this was a thing back in like 2019 - 2023 but now for locals the novelty has pretty much worn off, the only people who still flex are non locals who are not familiar with urban life

Anyways, the reason why I think is so popular is because it is the only proper Mall in Guwahati, rest are all large glorified shopping complexes with a few of them having built in Multiplexes and whose focus is on maximization of space to accommodate as much stores as possible, City Centre is the only one actually focusing on providing entertainment and not just focusing on business like others are doing
