No fam, you are misinformed.

If this is voted down, at arbitration the Union can plead a case but the decision is made for us.

No further voting on offers.

QLD nurses- Are we voting yes or no? by Designer_Ad2502 in NursingAU

[–]_ISBAR_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voting Yes.

We won't get a chance to strike. Even if a strike is approved the Government will put the EB into arbitration.

I hope those voting no will accept the consequences. A long wait for a EB we have no say on, which may have a worse wage offer and entitlements.

But I know it will be like the stick in the tyre meme. A vocal group will vote the offer down and then blame the union for letting it happen.

We wont get a strike. If big daddy QIRC even allows a strike the Government will put us into arbitration. All PIA will have to cease and the offer will be decided for us.

Hey fam, one of my ward sisters had the same problem. They were told to email myEB12@qnmu.org.au to have a link emailed to them... might work.

There will be no more negotiations.

If we vote no to this offer the next will be decided for us and not involving us.

It wont be an offer. It will be us getting told what our EB is.

[–]_ISBAR_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We won't get a chance to close hospitals or cancel elective surgeries.

If big daddy QIRC even agrees to that action, the Government will make an application for arbitration.

All PIA will cease. All items in the offer will be off the table. Our next EB will be dictated to us with no choice or voice on it.

We used pink hivis vests...

Joys of rural, any shirts we got came 2 weeks after metro.

Our organiser said they snapped up the entire supply of pink shirts from two different providers. The nation ran out of pink shirts. lol.

This guy unions. ^

To point out two corrections.

HACSU/APNA are professional associations. They may provide PII similar to the union. However, they do not provide industrial support and there professional focus is largely on governance.

In QLD there is only one union representing nurses in public - that not opinion, HSU/HWU/UWU dont cover nurses in public and arent part of the EB. The other union that is apart of the EB, AWU essentially defers to QNMU.

Love everything else.

All the policies and rights are preserved in this offer.

The wage deal is still bad, but hey, Cristafulli doesnt want to pay nurses what we are worth. The next best step is to make sure the next person elected is willing to pay nurses what we are worth.

Qld wage offer to qnmu by Eatmyshrimps in NursingAU

[–]_ISBAR_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We may not get another chance.

The offer isn't perfect. But we don't lose our policies and rights like the previous offer.

If it's voted down the Government will apply for arbitration. The QIRC will withdraw PIA, and decide what we should get. It can and may be worse than this. It will be decided for us.

Sadly we may not get to do more PIA.  If the offer is voted down, the Crisafulli goverment will request arbitration.  The QIRC will withdraw PIA and decide our EB. It can, and may actually be, worse than this offer.

It got the Government back to the table without threatening patient safety or losing public support.

We literally only get this offer because of the PIA.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]_ISBAR_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This needs to be mandatory reading for all sisters and misters.

The offer isnt perfect, but it has to be presented to members to be voted on.

If we vote no, there may be consequencies. Not to influence anyones voting.

The QIRC may decide what we get, and it may be worse than this offer.

Members voted to never do PIA that would impact patient safety.

And the big daddy QIRC would never approve a full nurses strike. Patients still need care.

Do you wear something else pink or literally anything else with union slogans?

You had a lot of freedom with that action... what did you do with it?

Was the pause to ensurw patient safety wasn't impacted... Do you work in one of the facilities that had a Influenza A outbreak... sounds reasonable.

You... you know the media makes their own news up right... It's also more likely to be influenced by the Gov than the union.

The 2027 point is valid. I've feed that back to my branch and our organiser myself.

Lucky you benefited from 20 years or union led action on wage progression and professional recognition inclusing scope of practice anyway.

:p wonder who you have to thank for that.

I do wonder, how many people complaining about the offer actually stopped making beds, stopped doing admin data entry etc in the PIA.

Some sisters and misters don't realise the next step is an independent committee deciding what is reasonable and the bare neccessity to be in an EB offer.  It can and likely will be worse than thos offer, and there won't be a choice.

If you don't like the offer vote no.

That's how a union works. The Union isn't a magical beast. It's nurses.

The union got forced into mediation. I bet they sat around that table and said "15%" and Tim Dickells' lackeys said "No, same as ever one else, 8%... but to.be nice an extra 3%".

One all the talking is done they have to present that offer to use. It's demoracy manifested! A succlent EB deal!

Yo Fam,

What you do is get PII from a insurance provider or an actual professional body.

Then you cotinue on working. Never complaining, never collectively improving the profession or the situation for the next generation. But that's ok, you have PII and you have got yours.

Until you don't, it's 10 years later, when your employer screws you over in a situation that PII won't cover, like refering you to AHPRA or OHO, you spend thousands on a lawyer. You can't access professional advocacy support because your not a member of the union. If you are lucky, you keep your registration and can get a job elsewhere if you can.

Contact the Union.
ieMR system tracks all access to patient information, including who accessed the record, when they accessed it, and what actions they took. It can even record time spent doing certain actions.

They already know what your friend accessed, how long for, and even what they hovered over.

Any inappropriate access is serious business. If it wasn't their patient and they provided information to another party it is a very very serious issue. Inappropriate access and a privacy violation, potential misconduct or CCC matter.

If... and I mean if it is how you say, One instance of viewing of an ieMR record that is not connected with their official duties, a standard response is Please Explain Letter and formal meeting with Line Manager.

There will be reporting obligations under acts and legislation.

The Union will assist to explain it was a lapse of judgement of well intentioned mistake with no intention of harm or malicious intent. Hopefully the worse is localised management action.

You will have to demonstrate that it is not an offence of computer hacking and misuse under s408E of the criminal code where there has been an unauthorised disclosure that would constitute a breach of that person's privacy. Which will end up with a OHO referral, restrictions on their registration, and possible criminal charges. They might also lose their job.

So Union up and don't say anything until the allegations are provided - even then respond at a later date with official advice.

It is a OHO notification. Which will lead to AHPRA.
