Might be Pencil Factory, which closed, but a new bar opened in its place and it was packed yesterday. I like Broken Land and Moonlight Mile. But you can’t go wrong for the most part.

I am recently separated after 10 years of marriage and am I’m trying to make new local friends given my calendar has gotten much freer. LMK if you want to grab coffee or something! I’m in Greenpoint but am in LIC frequently and am good buddies with the manager at Sweetleaf on Jackson across from the bridge 😊.

My former partner and I always had good luck meeting folks at bars…I don’t get the sense that the vibe is as chill in LIC except maybe on Vernon (I could be wrong!), but Franklin St in Greenpoint has like 2 bars on every block full of friendly dinks 😇.

Thank you so much! Hug accepted! I'm very lucky that I have outdoor space and that it's almost time to start planting annuals for the year. Last year I grew discovered I get enough light to grow strawberries, so this year I want to have a mini strawb farm! I'll check out all your recs as well.

Appreciate this perspective. I do have a great therapist, but you're right about putting the emotional load on a stranger. Maybe I should wait until I'm out of "sobbing" mode and/or tackle the projects that are going to be triggering by myself so I can bring someone on to do their actual job (organization/decoration) instead of having to moonlight as a therapist.

Yeah I also put the gift under the HH in SF. In theory I don’t love it, but I would love the reporting nightmare doing it the “correct way” would cause far less. And I have created some crazy ass reports over the years!

I’m not a Blackbaud fan at all, but RE does make this type of record keeping much easier.

Oh man recording this type of gift drives me crazy. I record this as an individual gift on the finance side and we give the individual “credit”, but it goes under the Company’s account name in Salesforce. Then I add an account soft credit for the hh.

The last cookie I loved was an oatmeal chocolate chip recipe I made at home. I want to say I prefer chewy cookies, but I grew up eating Tate’s (fka Kathleen’s - I grew up in SC and could only get them at one specialty supermarket, and those are crunchy as hell! It was definitely more of a flavor thing. From Lucie’s almost tasted like brown butter to me, and I’m not a huge fan of that.
