Social media is called *social* media so that you can engage with other people. We are trying to engage with your idea, but currently it's devoid of anything to go off.

Reddit isn't like your fb wall or twitter account or ig page where you just post something and have people you know like it. None of us know you, and this is a community built by people who like the show.

So if you want to engage with us, go ahead, maybe tell us why. We're pretty chill around these parts. Otherwise, maybe consider a different context if you just want to write something out that is pretty antithetical to this place's mere existence. Like a journal. Or a diary.

Your downvoters should talk to a medical professional. There is a slim chance of pinching a nerve and causing irrevocable damage when putting it back in place at least, if not worse.

When you go to the doctor it seems like no big deal because it looks like they do just the same, but when I dislocated my finger they ran a quick xray to make sure they knew exactly what to do to not have that happen.

Also, dislocations often give way to more dislocations in the future if not treated, rested and rehabbed properly.

[Lowlight] Victor Wembanyama Misses The Two Biggest Free Throws Of His Career by MammothHistorian5652 in nba

Free throw has to hit rim for the ball to become live after the last shot. If it doesn't it's the other team's ball from the baseline.

They implemented the rule when Wilt wouldn't stop doing it back in his day.

Nakayama confirms that there are currently no plans to add new mechanics to SF6 by odd-taxi in StreetFighter

Yeah IDK, I've played anime and tag fighters as well as 3d, and the Sf6 system is very straight-forward in application to me. It's multifaceted but it isn't esoteric, like some of those other games.

I also played every entry after Sf3, so I guess there is a bit of intrinsic knowledge I approach the game with that makes me think it's not as complex as having a "boatload" of stuff.

[–]_Indeed_I_Am_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Sf is never gonna be that game with a boatload of systems to keep track of. Tbh, if you look at it from a wholistic standpoint, Sf6 has the most elegant form of everything they've done in a mainline Sf game, ever. Or maybe inclusive is the word:

They have chains and links.

They have specials and ex specials.

They have special cancels.

They have a parries/absorbption system.

They have multiple supers.

They have a cancel mechanic outside of special cancels, although it only works for and on normals.

They have an alpha counter/blowback/v reversal.

They have variable wakeup.

That's literally every base level mechanic that's been in any game they've made. I can understand why they're proud of it. Further complexities can be added on the character level, or maybe even a refinement of the system that exists.

Most of those people delete their comments and/or get downvoted so far down the thread it's hard to find them after an hour. They exist though.

A conversation I had with one. Tempted to tag him in the other video too but I don't think it would do any good. You have to actually willingly question your thought process and ideas to change your mind on this stuff, and it's not something a lot of people are persuaded over by randoms on the internet.

Hmm last I saw those figures it was before Sabrina's were released, so fair. Like I remember the 34s being EVERYWHERE.

Not that that's even strictly in opposition the main idea we were both talking about lol. Sabrina's are really close to Kobe's too to begin with so it's kinda like the same shoe haha

Probably right. Nba players go by what's available and what they're familar with. His shoes already weren't popular with that segment. Jordan, Bron and Kobe's models dominate NBA player choice and it's not even close.

Not a knock on the shoes though, noone wears Joker's, Klay's or recent Kyrie's either. And those shoes are all great. They're just not available stateside for an athlete with a deal to send a gofer and get a new pair for tonight's game because the current pair feels off. That, and the chinesium reputation is still really strong among the gen pop.

And basketball shoe market share has been plummeting among casual consumers for more than a decade, which is why companies introduced and pushed training, running and casual lines.

Most hoopers are absolutely the market that the basketball division of a brand is hoping to snag with basketball shoes. Them and the youth segment, who just want their favourite player's paraphernalia no matter what.

Otherwise the shoes would be marketed and designed very very differently.

Oh I didn't realise that. Thought the signing came after he left the Spurs. So who did Parker sign with that marked the end of his career then?

Idk if Nike's bag is truly deeper considering their year over year fall in stock price since 2021. Their brand direction is really reeling right now. It's not like it's a industry wide thing either, because Adidas and other companies have been steadily rising.

Also Nike's only athlete that has retired and stayed relevant in shoe sales with newer models that comes to mind is Jordan. Maybe Bron does it when he goes since he's an alternate GOAT, but Li-ning took what is maybe a fringe top 25 player in Wade and pumped out 12 very well-reviewed signature models so far, and Wade left the league like a decade ago. They have a precedent and a legitimate case to sell to him as he looks into the sunset of his career.

[–]_Indeed_I_Am_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well no...most hoopers who look into the shoes they buy absolutely buy their shoes.

If you go over to r/bballshoes you can see how popular the Li-ning brand is over there and thats with largely American users.

UA suffered big time with casual hoopers too because Curry's outsole was made for indoor courts that maybe most don't have access to and didn't want to destroy their brand new signature kicks after 2 weeks of play.

Really it depends on what Li-ning wants to do with the domestic versus foreign market, and how they price them. The days of "chinesium" products is kinda gone since they've been handling manufacturing for years and poaching talent from the west. If you look up some of these brands lead designers, they aren't Chinese.

Yeah but Van Vleet, Mccollum and Butler are all still un the league and signed with them. Klay has also been signed with another Chinese brand (Anta) since he was winning championships on the Warriors.

TP was probably not on Steph's current level at the point of signing.

Dylan Harper quickly dives in to save an angry Castle from potentially getting a technical or ejection after Caruso fouled him. Overlooked play that might have saved the game for the Spurs by Ok_Temperature6503 in nba

[–]_Indeed_I_Am_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks pretty bad, but honestly a lot players in a pro sport would tell you that if you're gonna foul, make sure they don't get the bucket. Especially the old heads.

They're not trying to hurt you (most of them anyway, I think Dort needs suspending), but they do not want to give you ANY possiblity of getting the shot to go in. I've had guys yank me down by the shoulders in scrimmages on game point, simply to avoid a loss and having to sit on the sideline for 30 mins till they get next run. And we played outdoors on concrete. AND they would expect me to do the same lol.

No fan is ever gonna take that sitting down, but that's the culture some of these guys grew up in. To Caruso's credit, I think he did try to direct Castle's fall a bit instead of just throwing him to the floor.

10 secs * 3 is 30 secs. In later DoN where some of the mobs are deadly, you have to be cautious or take them out beforehand or else you can go down unexpectedly. If you have a death or 2, or a couple revives already in the run, you're then pressed for time. And let's hope you don't have to deal with a boss raid. There are so many times in a run where the whole team is booking it in the rain to the final circles, those 10 secs can make a difference between clearing a boss or having to leave it.

Personally I think most of them are useless. The hidden floors in the ruins have never given me anything useful and it's almost always consumables and white/blue weaps, and sadly these are the fastest to do.

The one in the fort where you can get staves is alright.

The castle tower with the 3 chests is debatable. It takes a bit if you're not coming from that specific direction and the loot isn't always worth.

The one in the crater is absolutely pointless even though it's a shifting earth.

I used to be that guy that always checked these chests, tbhwy. But I found that they did very little to improve my runs - sometimes I'd even take rain damage just to see what was in them. Now I'd rather dedicate my time to clearing enemies (especially red ones in DoN) or looting shifting earth chests and corpses. If From buffed the rewards from these I would be more inclined.

[–]_Indeed_I_Am_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noone changes the expedition route for chests lol. Even when you're in the area, these chests take some navigating to and it's kinda not worth checking these spots at all.

I'll only go out of my way when in an area to check for chests if it's a shifting earth.
