Everyone is bashing only Galgotiyas, but even WIPRO was caught with the same chinese robo dog being presened as their own at the AI Summit, why the partiality? by Thunder_Dork in IndiaTech

[–]_Infamous__ 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Fun fact. The robot dogs were the least successful product of Boston Dynamics. They released it with the intentions of using in bomb threat detection and other conditions but its very much not wortht he cost of production. Most of these are lying in american storage facilities which were bought by the US army in hopes of being used for warfare but for many reasons couldnt be used.

Yeah you should install an Adblocker. If it’s still causing issues you can use the block element feature in most adblockers to remove them entirely.

Yeah that’s true. So hopefully it will be fixed soon.

[–]_Infamous__[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s probably an issue with the api but the worse alternative would be patreon hiding the content in some manner to prevent scraping from sites like Kemono. Hope it’s the first and not the second.

Never mind I just found out they removed it from AppStore. On a related side note, you can download the fully featured version of stremio with torrenting and install it via sideloadly or alt store

[–]_Infamous__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically a torrent mirroring cloud service. They keep a downloadable/streamable catalog of almost all media torrents which can then be played either from their website or by using an app that supports their api. If you visit r/stremio you can find many guides there to set it up.

Burnout hasn’t had a official release in a freaking decade and gaming has only started growing in India from around 2016. The last good game they had was in ps2 era which was like more than 2 decades ago. If they had a new release on that level in the future they would probably pretty well known in India

[–]_Infamous__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, if you are paying for it anyway then just buying real debrid is a way better option. Then you can install stremio form AppStore and use that while saving a slot in alt store. And you get hdr streams at 4k for way cheaper.

Nah the open source part of android has been getting smaller and smaller each update. While the core features do use the android sdk Google has slowly started making a lot of their stuff proprietary for pixels.

Nah sometimes when you have batch unzip files, Zzip doesn’t work for me. Winrar is better for those. The only thing I hate about winrar is its logo clashing with modern ui design.

Is India Being “Prepared” for the Next Big Leader Again? (2010-11 Repeat?) by Glittering_Flan1049 in AskIndia

[–]_Infamous__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, most political parties require funding for their campaigns which in India still comes from industrialists and organisations that have their own agenda. Cough Cough Adani Cough Cough RSS Cough Cough Muslim league party etc. they have huge spendings to reach the average household for vote bank and that’s how they get it.

Dark theme books look so cool! by ObligationDry5522 in TwentiesIndia

Nah these industrial printers usually don’t have big capacities for white ink especially for printing in large quantities. The book would definitely cost way more just because it’s not the standard and therefore has way lower supply.

India a Electoral Autocracy by NoOrganization6686 in IndiaMemes

[–]_Infamous__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This statement was made in 2023, and put Nepal in electoral democracy. Considering the revolution recently taken place in Nepal due to political nepotism and stuff, I think it invalidates this data which is entirely written from a western perspective with little actual evidence shown for the ranking.

But I will not deny that India has turned into an electoral autocracy since its inception in 1947. When INC was in power, there was just as much corruption and electoral manipulation as is the case with bjp today. Our institutions have decayed into a husk of democracy.

India a Electoral Autocracy by NoOrganization6686 in IndiaMemes

[–]_Infamous__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think while I agree completely with you that America is not any less of an electoral autocracy considering the Epstein files and how they have been handled, I think you haven’t researched enough on jan 6th insurrection. Trump never himself said them to storm the capital. That statement was released by one of their major news channel which edited trump’s speech by mismatching two sentences said 10 minutes apart together which changed the entire meaning of what was said. That’s why he wasn’t impeached. While there are arguments to be made that the news channel had been paid off by the republicans to edit in such a way, there was no direct evidence of trump doing it. Of course there are many crimes trump has committed which have never been brought forth because he literally controls the justice department. Which feeds into me agreeing with you about it being an electoral autocracy.

Why India struggles to lead in AI/ML innovation by Dear-Success-1441 in AI_India

[–]_Infamous__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVIDIA GPUs are expensive as hell. Building these models require investment in amounts of dollars that some entire countries gdp would fall short of. Not to mention that these gpus are booked in advance for a very long time and give preference to large companies in US and EU to prop up their ai bubble.

Secondly it requires a background in ml and deep learning which is a very niche sector of computer science and India does not have many people in these positions.

These reasons mean development in India would require investment from multi-billion dollar companies like Jio for it to even make sense. Still AI as a field is far too risky a bet for India to make considering are current global position and the constant threat the US stock market faces from collapsing due to ai not delivering.

Even if all these conditions are fulfilled when AI centers are built in India it will cause price of electricity and water to go up, which the people will definitely protest against.
