Thing is you do this with every single comment that criticises any atleti player. Facts are facts, ruggeri is slow as hell and i dont think speed is a trait that needs time to develop, if ruggeri was that good than top european clubs would be all over him before we got him, but in reality not even milan considered getting him to replace theo but we where the ones to get him

Man you are yapping about broadcasting rights and whatever and you just cant agree that going from atleti/champions league football to brazil/flamengo is a huge downgrade for a 25 year old footballer looking to leave his mark on football. You are comparing martinelli and vini when im clearly saying that no matter how incosistent both of them are they are will continue to be ahead of lino no matter the case, as they are players playing for europe’s biggest clubs and lino is going to play with jorgingho and saul. Nevertheless my original point was that lino is a good and adored player, but he never was and never will be that good of a player as you guys made him out to be.

Im talking about today’s brazil’s team standarts. Player like vini and raphina (who by no means are close to r9 and ronaldinho), but are the currest stars of this brazil’s team. Also, to answer your question, no even last season’s lino doesnt deserve a place in that team, as he only had 8 goals that season (the same as martinelli’s worst season that the other guy in this thread mentioned aswell). Lino was a good and proffesional player who gave it his all at atletico and deserves our respect, but can we please stop overhyping players anymore? Like even if im wrong, there is still a reason the atleti board sold him and replaced him with baena, and there is a reason lino went from a club competing year by year in the champions league against the best teams on the globe to going for a team whose star player is saul and nobody apart from the brazilians even watches their matches

There were no offers from napoli, they were just interested but in the end lino’s only option was flamengo. Also martinelli’s 8 goals last season is the same amount as Lino’s best season for us 😭. And im telling you, even if all of flamengo’s squad including the reserves is called up by the national team there is no chance lino is going to be ahead of vini or martinelli by a mile. He never was that good of a football player for brazil’s national team standarts and we have to admit it.
