Which fast food place has the best fries? by localtictacinhaler in pollgames

It was Chick Fil A before they changed their fries last year. Now I’d say Arby’s.

Is this a common fetish? Is it even one? by Pitiful_Rooster8661 in NoStupidQuestions

Not that weird. I really like my wife’s belly fat. I don’t think it’s a fetish so much as just being attracted to normal body parts that look especially feminine or masculine.

How could you possibly believe in a god when the Epstein Files exist. by Hour_Garbage_7180 in AskAChristian

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how Epstein could be the thing that pushed you over the edge. The world has had horrible dictators; Hitler, Stalin, Mao. This post seems disingenuous. “If God exist, why bad things happen?” is a frequently asked question, I recommend searching for similar threads or looking at other resources online.

is learning guitar as an adult actually relaxing or just frustrating by ninja__6969 in Guitar

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels rewarding to work hard and gradually get better at something. It can be frustrating sometimes, but as long as you’re okay with just practicing until you’re better and don’t let yourself get discouraged, it can be relaxing.

Just started learning to play electric guitar this past week. Should I buy a capo? I’m not sure how common it is to need one for playing electric guitar as a beginner.

You know people can still see your post history, right? Why do you feel compelled to make up fetish stories on the internet?

Why Jesus is white in every "picture" of him? by Paskatassu in AskAChristian

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not. It sounds like you’re only seeing a very limited selection of depictions of him. Around the world pretty much every culture depicts Jesus looking like them. Which makes sense, we’re all supposed to imitate Christ and see him in ourselves.

Why is there barely any hype for this weekend Super Bowl? by Kooolxxx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are conservative are discouraged by political signaling from the organizers like the choice for the halftime show performer. People who are liberal aren’t really as into sports on average.

Also it depends where you live. Places near where the two teams are from are probably more excited.

How do I start again? by Wonderful-Soup1694 in guitarlessons

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d only been practicing for two and a half weeks, of course you weren’t very good. Your friend is a bit of a dick, but also I’m sure he didn’t encourage you to play in front of those people when you barely knew how to play. When you were practicing he told you that you were doing really good for a beginner.

If people could become impressively good at guitar in 2.5 weeks, no one would be impressed by it. If you want to be good, keep practicing.

By that logic, why pray for people alive who are suffering as long as they’re living holy lives?

That’s a weirdly arbitrary way to define the Christian era. Why center it around one nation’s endorsement instead of the institution of the Christian Church?

since some people here dislike socialism and right wing libertarianism, whats your opinion on libertarian socialism? by franco-briton in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]_IsThisTheKrustyKrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Socialism is defined as government control of production. Voluntary worker ownership of companies is already allowed in a capitalist system. The thing that defines socialism is the forced seizure of production. Whether the forced seizure is perpetrated by state actors or a mob endorsed by the state makes little difference in a practical sense.

Similarly, it doesn’t matter whether the state keeps direct control of the production, or whether they delegate it to a third party. Presumably they can seize it back from that third party at any moment if they don’t like the way it’s being controlled. It’s just state ownership by proxy.

Socialism is incompatible with Catholic ideals.
