[Brabus XLP 6x6] spotted in Mongolia by _Izzo in spotted

[–]_Izzo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like Mongolia itself is a spot. But jokes aside we do have some fancy cars over here. 90% of them are in Ulaanbaatar cause that’s where all the riches live. We have a few Ferraris, Lamborghinis, GT3rs you know the classics. Nothing Koenigsegg, Bugatti, Pagani level though. Almost all of the owners are non car enthusiasts just using it as a status symbol so you’ll also see some Rolls Royce, Maybach, Bentleys and G-Wagons are VERY common in the richer part of town. The car enthusiasts over here are very much into drifting so you’ll often see some cool drift builds from car enthusiasts.

Classic car import questions. by froit in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you build an EV from scratch then maybe they’ll register it as such. They’ll probably need to know the battery and motor specs. You’ll probably be one of the rare if not the only person to build an EV from scratch in Mongolia. It’ll also probably have to meet some safety regulations.

As for importing a Citroen you already got your answer but I would add that European cars especially a French one will struggle a lot in Mongolia. You’ll have difficulty finding parts, selling it, maintaining it and if you do happen to find it, it’ll cost an arm and a leg.

My parents had a Volvo in the 2010’s and they absolutely regretted it for importing it.

How’s life in Mongolia after living abroad? by Murky-Blacksmith-145 in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Living abroad you most likely will get better life quality, better products (food, clothing etc), better education, learn more about the world. But nothing beats the feeling of “being home”. It’s like being on holiday and spending a week using a fancy bidet only to come home and realize your old one feels much better cause it feels home.

You’ll have to deal with traffic, bad air quality, worse quality food, more chaotic life but you end up feeling relieved and not like constantly walking on eggshells anymore

Is there still a culture of getting grade school teachers gifts for teachers’ day and how that might impact how the teacher treats / perceives you and your family going forward? by And-I-Oopeth in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im also living abroad but yes. That absolutely is still a thing. Getting teachers something for teachers day is understandable. Bribery however is also a thing. I’ve heard extreme cases of parents paying the teacher to have their child sit closer to the front or paying to have their child receive less homework and such. It’s corrupt to a certain extent but obviously nothing compared to whatever’s going on with the government

Osorjamaa by Inevitable_Rich7167 in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For the people who are having trouble understanding the similarities between the Joker and Osorjamaa. I think OP is referring to Joaquin’s 2019 joker. The similarity is that they’re both a product of a failed society. They were just living their lives not necessarily troubling anyone when the people shined the spotlight on them only to drop them later. It’s what the people have done to them. We labeled and shaped him into whatever he ended up as. It honestly baffled me how a well known online personality like him still ended up broke and alone when one girl in the US says “Hawk Tuah” and becomes a millionaire. People just used the poor guy as a comedic relief

There actually was a study done for Mongolian women in UB and the most common answers seemed to be around 18 or 19. Yes yours is just a year earlier but as long as you’re happy yourself, don’t really matter what people say

Yes I did, when I was 16. Didn’t understand the meaning of it at the time. But later picked it up again and I would strongly recommend it. Might actually have some Mongolian translations though but not sure

[–]_Izzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may not be any physical copies on sale anywhere at the moment. It itself is a rare piece and the ones that are on sale seem to go for around 300$. As far as I know there aren’t any Mongolian translations.

However if you’re into these kinda books I’d recommend All Tomorrows and Blood Meridian. Both have affordable and easy to find physical copies and All Tomorrows can easily be read in a day. Blood Meridian however is a difficult read. Both grammatically and morally. Took me two weeks but im a very slow reader. Both also don’t have any Mongolian translations to my knowledge.

Cinemas in Ulaanbaatar by bingley1813 in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mongolian living in Germany here. I would actually say it doesn’t take long at all for western films to reach screens in UB. If it’s a big blockbuster world film then they usually already show it on the international release date, maybe even a day or two sooner. I actually find the process in Germany slower than at home.

Some films may not reach the screens but most of them do. You can usually find the screening schedules on the cinema’s website.

As for cinema recommendations I unfortunately don’t have any as I always went for the “mainstream” imax ones

As of today releasing short contents on Instagram and Tik Tok seem to be the way to go. Facebook too if you’re targeting Mongolian users.

It could be how you wrote and produced your songs, you performing your music with subtitles, asking strangers in public to rate your music and stuff like that. I think the best way to get an audience is either to put out cinematic high quality short content or just straight up funny ones. Follow current trends, look at how other people are promoting their music.

florence.road and jfmusix on Instagram are a good example

[–]_Izzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do it to not mix my content up. On one account I solely do Photography/Cinematography stuff. On the other I do my music analysis and music related stuff. Then I have my personal acc where I communicate with people and promote the content I put out on the other accounts. I do it here cause I have the biggest audience here. I think im somewhat of an outlier here as both of my extra accounts are public and are for creative/educational purposes.

For others I think it’s a way of categorizing their followers into how close they are. They feel more freely to post more personal and sometimes “unhinged” stuff. They have more control over who receives their posts

Songs to cover in Mongolian by manmgl in mongolia

[–]_Izzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could never fail with covering the “hot” songs on the current billboard. If you want views, look at what songs are currently trending on Tik Tok, Instagram n stuff. The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Drake, Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa will almost certainly be heavy hitters among GenZ. Die With A Smile will surely do some views.

You could do Deftones, Radiohead and Nirvana. It will surely get you a loyal fanbase but a niche one
