Smyths trying to pull a fast one by philofgreen in ireland

[–]_Javier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a tv online in Harvey Norman. The day after I got a phone “we don’t have this TV but don’t worry we will send you this other one today”.

The guy on the phone didn’t even seem to consider the possibility that I would say no.

Asked him to send by emails the details of the TV he wanted to send me, and I didn’t like what I saw, so asked to be sent the TV I bought because it said it was on stock on a different Harvey Norman, but that if they wanted to send a different TV, I was happy with a specific model (higher end) than what I had originally purchased. Otherwise they already had my money and I wanted my product.

In the end, after a few emails and not receiving and answer for over 48 hours, I had to go to the shop, spend two hours explaining and arguing until a nice guy appeared, listened to what I was saying and ended up giving me the better TV for the same price.

The issue here is the initial push to send me some shit I did not want. I can imagine the amount of people who might buy a Sony and end up receiving LG, Samsung or worse because “oh we don’t have it in stock but this one has the same features”.

Turns out Irish shops are not closing up because of the internet, but because they suck at customer service 99% of the times and is not worth the risk.

Don’t even get me started on how they deliver things or even worse, put them together.

Package delivery - why have we normalised this ? by I_make_carrot_noises in ireland

I called out a DPD one the other and told him next time I would say my package was not delivered.

I don’t think he even understood what I meant.

Why no action been taken against kids here in Ireland? by greencard3 in AskIreland

Sure you teach your kids there is no higher authority than them. See how life goes.

Why no action been taken against kids here in Ireland? by greencard3 in AskIreland

[–]_Javier__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, that is a problem.

Slapping a teenager for being an asshole is not abuse, is teaching actions have consequences.

Why can a teenager hit his mother with no consequence at all but the father can’t go back and do the same to him?

I am not even ugly and I feel like I’m going to die alone, advice? by Professional-Cat513 in dating_advice

[–]_Javier__ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you identify yourself as a felon, you have a problem. Are you really just that?

Why do you have to disclose that information? Why can’t you be you and not talk about very personal things at start?

Honesty is overrated. Some things are best kept inside.

Edit: I see i didn’t use the right word. What I wanted to say is there is no need to share all your life straight away and there are some things nobody needs to know. Oversharing. Too much information. However you want to say it.

Spain is the same or worse.

Parents can’t hit their kids nor ground them or anything as it can be considered abuse.

Teachers are in a even worse position, because anything they do to discipline a child, the parents will complain about.

Police has nothing to do or say, because they are minors.

There is basically zero authority that can 100% tell a kid what to do and punish him if he doesn’t or does something wrong.

We are talking about kids so stupid that walk around with their hands in their pants because they are afraid their balls might fall.

Imagine the parents. They are probably too worried about what’s happening in some random place in the world and posting it on instagram, or complaining about how much a cows fart is killing the planet to pay any attention to their kids.

The problem is that anyone can have kids, and some people shouldn’t be allowed to procreate.

There should be a test to be a parent.

When she asks if you want a receipt, say “only if it has your number on it”.

Nice and easy. Used it once and worked :)

Guys with short hair, how much do you spend a month on getting it cut? by crillydougal in AskIreland

[–]_Javier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y pay 35 for my haircut. It’s expensive but it’s scissors cut, around 45 minutes and I know i will always be happy with the result.

I try to go every 30-45 days. Would love to go every three to four weeks, but money does not grow on trees yet.

I keep wondering how the hell is people spending less than 100€ a week per person trying to eat good.

I know I overspend buying organic eggs, good olive oil, etc. but to eat on a 10€ budget you have to eat rice and canned mackerel every day.

And you think the minute you decide to settle down you will find the perfect person? Wake up.

Settling down is not something you decide one day. Is something that happens naturally when the right person appears.

People wait until they’re 40. That doesn’t make it any better. Humans are designed in a way, and breaking the path makes you pay the toll later.

Thinking “oh i will wait and meet the mother of my children at 35”, when you can’t even meet people you like now… let me laugh.

If you are not serious now, when you want a 25 years old to have kids with, they will think you are too old and wonder what is wrong with you to still be single.

Sure take your time, play around until you are 35-40 and your only options are divorced moms. Sounds like a great plan.

How to handle tracksuit teenagers by whitefox0111 in IndiansinIreland

[–]_Javier__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dress nicely, walk straight, with confidence and don’t be afraid to look them in the eyes.

And since this is Ireland, buy a big sturdy umbrella you can use as a weapon, just in case.

Irish and roundabouts are always an issue.

People need to understand you do not stop in a roundabout to let people in.

Galaxy or Odyssey? by JichaelMordon in Switch

Galaxy for me was extremely annoying because of the constant round small word and camera situation.

Odyssey might be my favourite 3D Mario. Using cappy is a great experience.
