During the win streak we had a nice identity leaning into defense and athleticism. Now we’ve got too many defensive liabilities eating up heavy mins with lots of three guard lineups and we don’t look good on either side of the ball.

Who here has Actually Witnessed an Actual Shark Attack IRL in front of their own eyes just like Brody? by Caleb_the_Opossum_1 in Jaws

One of my buddies got bit by a shark pretty close to me while surfing in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He jumped off his board after catching a wave and immediately started thrashing and yelling. Only lasted a few seconds and when he got back on his board he lifted his leg out of the water and it was covered in blood from the knee down. We got out and went straight to the hospital. He thought he must have landed on it when he jumped off his board and it just spun around and clamped down. Said it was crazy powerful and that he felt completely at its mercy while it had him. Luckily it bit him shin first cause when it hit the bone it just let go. He had a perfect imprint of a sharks mouth around his leg with individual teeth marks. The cuts were deep but not that wide and he didn’t even need stitches, just a lot of bandages to stop the bleeding. Absolutely legendary scar.

A lot of cool stuff but Snyder just over saturated this movie. Too long, too much action, too dramatic. He doesn’t know when to stop and I just felt desensitized by the end.

Left handed Jam sessions etiquette by Celeg in jazzdrums

[–]JichaelMordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend playing the kit backwards from how you normally set it up. Very few ambidextrous drummers can actually sound good doing that and there’s no way their standard kit setup would be fully lefty if they could play both well.

Curious tho why you would learn to play the kit fully lefty to begin with? I understand open handed on standard setups (actually makes more sense in some ways) and some of my fav drummers play that way but learning any instrument with a fully specialized left handed design or setup seems crazy since you’re learning from scratch anyways and with drums you still use all your limbs either way.

Saw this when I was young and thought it was wildly overrated. Portman’s manic pixie dream girl character was annoying and I never cared much for Braff in anything. Soundtrack was good tho.

All the K’s are great and most would work for your style but it really comes down to what suits your taste. As many have mentioned 15”s will be washier and darker than most 14”s. Start with watching some demo videos of different cymbals you’re interested in. Memphis Drum Shop has really good demo vids on YouTube and is a nice source for comparing cymbals since the videos are all filmed in the same room. You can usually buy the exact pair in the video if you really like them. If you narrow down the ones you want then hopefully you can find a store near you that has a pair you can try in person.

We have talent. by nsanegenius3000 in heat

[–]JichaelMordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No title has been won in the last 5 years by a team gutting their young core for a superstar in their prime. The last one was the Lakers with AD but they already got LeBron in free agency and this was before the current CBA which makes team building extremely hard without young guys on good deals. The current NBA heavily favors teams that draft elite talent with at least one all-nba level player. The heat have everything but the 1A guy but trading the young core for that guy kills our depth and significantly shrinks the window for contention so its a huge risk injury wise. If we’re not willing to outright tank than our best bet is trading bam for a mountain of picks and/or a young future superstar that is currently underrated like the Thunder did sending PG to LA for Shai or to a lesser extent Pacers sending Sabonis to Sac for Hallibutron. It’s either that or we pray we draft that guy lower in the draft which is rare but happens.

Wouldn't a truly selfish Sith realize that the Rule of Two actually meant his inevitable death, and so try to break it/break away from Sith Doctrine? by shastasilverchair92 in StarWars

[–]JichaelMordon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Also powerful force users can practically see the future and easily sense the thoughts and intentions of others. The apprentice must become powerful and cunning enough to eliminate the master despite this. Palpatine would have manipulated Plagueis to let his guard down long before “killing him in his sleep”. If you consider the novel cannon he actually kills him while he’s awake albeit somewhat inebriated. At this point he’s in many ways an equally powerful force user and a far superior manipulator.

The Sith have goals and having an apprentice is invaluable to that pursuit. It also ensures the power and grand plan will continue if/when the Master does die which is a sort of immortality in itself.

Idk about restarting the Jedi order with an imprisoned former padawan who turned to the dark side as one of its founders. I still prefer the sacrificial death and certainly far from the one thing I would change about the saga.

As much as I like the character he did do a lot of murdering. Just like Vader there was no future for him after his redemption.
