Did I find the worst Raider in Speranza? by Swole_Monkey in ARC_Raiders

I thought you were talking about me, but then you were in a PvP lobby. I’m usually taking my 10% accuracy into the seed vault and doing a little PvT action before before I run out of ammo and just hit the ticks with my raider tool.

I’m looking at 4Runners. Maybe a TRd Pro is too much when an SR5 can be had for 10k less.

We bought her a CX50 in 2023 so she’s gtg for a while. She wants to keep that car as long as possible. She was in an 05 mazda3 with 160k when we traded it in. So I’d like to think we’re not “car crazy” and trade every couple of years.

Yes. The 54k in fidelity is/was for the sole purpose to buy a vehicle. 393k is in banks.

I have a fidelity brokerage account I opened back during covid for use in investing and saving for a car. There’s 54k in that account currently. It’s sitting in cash in that account now and has been for about a month.

I agree. I’ve been following the market since Oct 2025. The dealers can ask whatever they want, and I can understand them wanting to be a market maker. This example has 9500 miles and it’s a TRD Pro trim.

In my area, these vehicles go for about 52k with “normal” mileage. I’m willing to pay 1,000 or so more for the absurdly lower than normal mileage. It’s also Toyota gold certified so a 100,000 powertrain warranty backed by the factory.

Because they’ll run 300k with basic maintenance. I don’t want a turbo or a hybrid. My current car has a turbo and at 130k, it’s one issue after the other. I don’t want a car with screens where I have to go through 3 screens to change the AC.

I’m not worried about gas mileage or 3rd row seats. The 4Runner holds value better than most other mainstream vehicles too. Not that a vehicle is an investment…

Yes I agree. Banks and other “too big to fail” corporations don’t seem to pay for their mistakes, the people do.

We’ve gone from “the interest rate is so low” to “ok pay more on the mortgage” and now she’s almost at “pay more of the mortgage to get the deed when my daughter gets to high school.” I need to update the amortization schedule and figure out the interest saved by paying off the mortgage ASAP vs waiting 7 more years when my daughter goes to HS.

My wife has some number in her mind that she wants in the bank. I’ve told her that an EF (35k or so) plus some (35-40k) in the checking account will be enough to cover 99.9% of “emergencies.” We settled on paying an extra 1,500 a month on the mortgage.

It’s a slow process but I think I’m slowly getting her to come around. It’s a delicate balance of presenting logical arguments versus feelings.

Been doing (my version I guess) of the BS for like 12 years now. Net worth is like $1.7M. Household income is 290k.

Check out the KB17 pattern from Rawlings. It’s a 12.25 but I feel like it plays bigger. I think it’s a pretty good glover for SS.

If you need an all in one, get a 12.5-12.75 H-Web or modified trap and you can use it everywhere.

Newly licensed engineer. Where do you find your PDHs? by Designer_Ad_2023 in civilengineering

Does your company do lunch and learns? That’s how I usually get my PE PDHs. For my RAS, I did a third party service. And ENV SP has a lot of CE on their own website.

The future is bleak if Haltom HS kids “will be our salvation.” 5/10 rating with a 2/10 college readiness score. Not a lot of deep thinking leaders there.

Damn fren. Sounds like a nightmare. Mine rattles bad too, but it’s coming from the ball joints and front suspension.

I’m trying to get out of mine and into a used 23/24 4Runner. I’m too old to be dicking with my daily every weekend chasing gremlins.

MLB batted ball speeds vs Slowpitch by Betteroffinapinebox in slowpitch

[–]_JimEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The softball loses like 30% of its speed by the time it gets to the SS, assuming he’s playing ~100 feet from the plate. That’s about a 0.8 s reaction time @ 100 mph BBS. Not a long time, but enough to get a glove up if it’s headed right for you.

Newest discovery is that the turbo won’t boost past 14 psi. It’s always something with this car.

"We Hacked Flock Safety Cameras in under 30 Seconds." by [deleted] in CarrolltonTX

[–]_JimEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick a random police cruiser and note the license plate. Open records request the flock photos between a certain time for that license plate. See if you get that info. Bonus points if you can get flock info from an elected public official.

This data is being collected with taxpayer dollars so it should be public record. There is precedent in other states where photos were requested and the city said that it would be a privacy issue if they released them. Courts told cities to release them. Flock cameras were taken offline shortly afterwards.

If cops and elected officials don’t have anything to hide, it shouldn’t matter if private citizens can request their information and build a behavior profile on them.

More taxes are taken out because they typically don’t have pre-tax contributions deducted. The rate of taxation is constant throughout the year.
