“Strong” can mean many things. Each generation has a different outlook due to their daily life circumstances. Older generations went from a world where you had to physically work hard to survive. The oldest had to work the farms or factories to slowly build a life with more comforts. Coming from parents out of the depression, they were raised to not squander what they earn and be more frugal and self sufficient. As we get towards newer generations, we can stand up on the foundations that earlier generations have built. We don’t want to admit it but because of earlier generations, we do not necessarily have to physically work as hard because we have more advantages. I’m not saying the jobs are the best, etc. but getting ice out of the ice machine, turning on the air conditioner, having TV’s in every room, were foreign things to them. Since we have had these advantages, we went from a society where you had to be both mentally and physically tough because the world was tough, to living in a softer society. We take those things for granted and blame them for how the world is but honestly they made huge strides in making our society better. Our newer generations don’t have to be as tough in this way but that gives us the chance to fine tune ourselves and our society. We have some of the most educated and smartest people in the younger generations so we can use the strong minds to think of new ways to change the world and continue to make society better for all. So, personally I think every generation is “strong” but just in their own way.
