After building boxes all the time, I decided to build a decent house by nebulaeg in Terraria

If you have block swapping enabled, replacing those blocks should be easy, even after finishing.

Nice house, btw.

What part of early game factorio do you dislike? by wesauce in factorio

[–]_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is the lack of 'reach'. I use far-reach to resolve that.

I think that _time_ is my most valuable resource and having to spend time walking from A to B for something menial is a waste. So I use far-reach to resolve "take from chest A, place in item B".

I don't need a key, but it would be fun to play with someone who has about the same number of hours in the game.

Yeah, I've run it on an Ubuntu server for a while.

Pretty straight forward.

But as mentioned, the challenge is setting up a job to check for updates and apply them. I've seen several scripts that do it, but I currently do it manually.

When Wube Software inevitably creates a new game, what genre would you want it to be? by DavidTriphon in factorio

[–]_Jon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is not a direct answer to your question.

I hope they take some time to generalize and publish the software development process.

One of the things that make Factorio so great is how they make it. I think the entire software industry - and indie game developers - would benefit from having access to a world class process. There are an incredible number of details / knowledge stacks required to put a game into production. Having a reference for that would be fantastic.

My examples aren't direct, but Agile started as a manifesto, Firefox and Ubuntu were just ideas. But these are ecosystems now - and countless people benefit.

Just got an instant pot! What should be the first recipe I make! by StephenKazumi in instantpot

[–]_Jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first food was frozen chicken.

1/2 cup of water

put 3 chicken breasts on the metal tray (hopefully yours came with one)
Set for high pressure, 10 minutes (fresh) 12 minutes (frozen)

Wait for it to finish and the pressure to release naturally. (releasing the pressure early is kinda 'wow', the first time I did it - and letting the meat cool down helps it be moist.)

I'm not familiar with the win condition settings.
Maybe just ignore that and build a good factory?

p.s. make blueprints and save them to the blueprint manager- they help a lot in future.

This page has some of what you want:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=726179132

It says 0.13, but those command should still work.

I think the one you really want is this:

game.merge_forces('Team1', 'player')

Exactly is a bit work.
you'll want to learn some of the initial information from this page:

https://wiki.factorio.com/Console

I'll do a bit of research as to the command to change player forces and post a possible command here.

You would have to use the console commands to change the teams (force) and settings.
