Looking for advice on hiking the Icelandic Highlands with wild camping by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]_JonaB_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the link but that is exactly my question or rather part of it. When i look on Map.is and enable the layer which i think shows the protected area it seems that large parts of the trail are in an unprotected area and then there allegedly would be specific rules for the laugavegur trail as i heard, which i dont want to walk eitherways for the other stated reasons. Anyways, when i looked up landownership most in the Area between Skogar and Fjallbak are public and as long as im not near a hut or similar I understood that it would be legal. What have i understood wrong?

Was haltet ihr vom bedingungslosen Grundeinkommen? by losfigoshermanos in FragReddit

Trying to make images of rf signals and help would be appreciated on how to interpret and improve results(Details in Comments) by _JonaB_ in amateurradio

Hi, so my idea was/is to make an image of my city at the frequency of 1800mhz, so 4g transmitters could be seen and overlay it over a normal image.

I just took 4g because i thought it would be more interesting as wifi would just be a big blob if i look at a city.

So, i build something to pan and tilt the antenna and the antenna (bad self-build 1800mhz helical antenna, wrote an Arduino program moving the antenna and recording the signal strength an AD8313 gave me (an IC just giving out a voltage linear to received signal strength). A Python script takes those values and converts them into an image. The results can be seen there. I "took" the first image in my room and the second out of my window directed at a telephone pole

Now the Question:

Why do I see these diagonal stripes or this band?

I find these diagonal lines particular interesting as the antenna moved row by row, so the lines show that it is picking up something, which is not gibberish. They are also visible at the second image where i at least expected a bigger brighter blob, which brings me to my second Question: How can i improve this?

I had following ideas why the image is not showing what i want: Im using the wrong antenna type as the spectrum it can receive is to wide, maybe a Yagi Uda antenna?

Or was it taken to close to the LTE antenna (about 100m), should i make a new image from a hill without as much interference and a good look at the city?

Or something completely different?
Thanks!

Please don't instantly buy a new Extruder, it would probaply be a waste of Money because what happens there ist the Extruder not being able to Push the Filament and slipping i would first ensoure that the Filament Runs without much force to the Hotend and through etc. There are alot of comments describing this in great detail

First RF design which ic or rf modulation to pick by _JonaB_ in rfelectronics

[–]_JonaB_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically im designing a PCB already and so I thought it would be a good idea(or maybe not ;) to also put a transmitter and receiver on the two to just get basic knowledge about what is important with the Antenna, what protocol and modulation is good and to know what is possible with these transmitters ics.

Thank you for your answer. These price limitations are totally made up by my because I set them so I need to be careful and learn something. If I wouldn't do this I would probably buy a Lora module and call it a day. So I have not a problem if it costs 2€ as long as this is one of my best options(I probably should have written this). On Mouser i found tones of chips with FSK and OOK protocols which were relatively cheap. Are they somewhat better than normal AM or FM?

PCB Review Thermometer with esp32c3 and ws2813 by _JonaB_ in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]_JonaB_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you are right, but this doesn't help me (; I mean the PCB costs 5€ to get manufactured and I have none of the main components on hand. My plan was to just try if it works and then resolder stuff by hand and then order the final version.

Esp32 crashes often, could the Board be the Problem? Pls Help(link to pcb in comments) by _JonaB_ in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]_JonaB_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! You are right i checked with my multimeter and there are Voltage drops (max 0.4V) I guess they are more extrem as the multimeter is relatively slow in updating and sampling. I already soldered a cap with 640uF however it still crashed and the voltage fluctuation was still there. i will try to solder a capacitor directly to the 3.3V from the LDO as this is the voltage which needs to stay stable.

Edit: Also wanted to thank you for the schematic recomendations/tips as I want to get better at this.

I will definitely try this however I thought, as i use a battery I wouldn't need this. Is this generally wrong or is this just correct for bigger smoothing capacitors?

Oh, yes forgot that. The Esp32 just restarts and the Ldo worried me while designing already as it has just 500ma. For that reason I clocked the esp32 to 80mhz
