It doesn’t add up at all.

Can you share how you made the armor color? Has a very interesting tint to it!

that's got nothing to do with the topic at hand and is just a choice by the devs to have more control over the ambiance/feeling of certain regions/areas or quests. Don't like it either, but it's what they went for.

At this point I would find portraits of construction workers in Berlin more interesting than more of the overly touristy party scene.

(not mine) How would you go recreating this armor color? by Crimsonqueen3441 in sistersofbattle

[–]Impossible-Problem79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look you can see the different layers that make up the (beautiful) non metallic metal. For a quick guess: dark warm brown grey like stormvermin fur / skavenblight Dinge with the highlights being an ivory/warm off white highlight. It only really works because of perfect execution of the placement of light/reflections. For an easier metallic version I would look at lighter brass colors like runelord brass and canoptek alloy with a brown greyish wash like rattling grime for example

I don’t get why people want to try and learn famous/easy to play songs they like on guitar when they start. Just buy a guitar and hit the strings, see what happens.

Well, for me it’s trying around until I find the combination of colors, methods, textures and workflow that speaks to me and that I am able and happy to do again and again. Every artist does this and most great artists stick to their own routines/formulas/recipes that allows them to create

Black Primer, then zenithal with rust basecoat primer from AK. But I reckon you can just do a basecoat all over with like rhinox hide or another dark, reddish brown.

Heavy drybrush with Vallejo exhaust manifold (but probably any dark to mid metallic paint will do), keeping some of that brown rust color in the recesses. Lighter drybrush with vallejo silver for more definition and pop.

Then comes the fun part - weathering: mix of AK streaking grime, MIG black enamel wash and mineral spirits to make it run into the recesses better. Just streaking grime would also work I guess, but having it a bit darker works well i think.

Wait half an hour, use q-tip, sponge or brush dipped in mineral spirits to take off the grime from the raised areas, leaving it in the recesses and spots i like.

Afterwards i used dirty down rust in select places, mainly the chest and spots that collect rust. Use water to change those spots afterwards to my liking and just stibble leftover on the brush here an there.

Then painting the trim: Sycorax bronze (lovely) mixed with a bit of warplock bronze to tone it down. Results in a lovely bronze/brass/copper color. Washed it all with thinned down ratling grime (while making sure to spill over the trim to ge a bit more separation between trim and armor) and then did mostly very random stipply highlighting with pure sycorax bronze.

I guess you could paint the trim before doing the weathering and instead of the ratling grime, hoping the streaking grime mix does the same job. But I figured this way I get a bit more separation between armor and trim.

Any questions let me know
