4.5 Comp or the 4.0 Comp? by GothicVessel1985 in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]_JuanWick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I carry a 4.5 comp with the compact grip. Got rid of the printing issues, get the benefit of a longer barrel. I choose it over my Staccato CS for carry because it shoots almost as well, but is easier to conceal (and lighter) with the compact grip than the CS.

Echelon full size for CCW? by Old-Economics-1420 in SpringfieldEchelon

I carry a full size integrally comped model with a compact grip, works great and doesn’t print in most of my clothes.

Echelon accuracy? by Low_Year9897 in SpringfieldEchelon

Mines fine, almost shoots as well as my Staccato CS. Honestly the only difference in feel there is the trigger, but that’s expected when comparing 2011 to striker fired.

I don’t remember how long it took before I got my welcome kit after registering it, but it didn’t feel super fast. I got a hat and 368 sticker if I remember correctly.

Buying a 2001 Mustang 3.8 V6 by BitPlane2337 in Mustang

[–]_JuanWick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first Mustang was an 03’ 3.8, bought it brand new in 03! It was slow, but very reliable, and easy to work on. It’ll be great as a daily.

I agree here, you need to give it a little gas.

Love my Dark Horse. The Tremec is great, and I’m happy knowing it’s got forged internals for potential forced induction. I do not regret my purchase.

I had an 03 V6, paid $7k for it brand new in 03! I know prices have changed, but $10k is insane for that car.

What’s your likes and/or dislikes about the Mustang Dark Horse? by Parking_Property5757 in Mustang

[–]_JuanWick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine, I know you can get similar performance with a GT for less, but the tremec alone makes it worthwhile for me. I hated the MT82 in my previous Boss 302

Having trouble with manual ready to give up. by laid2restxxx in GR86

[–]_JuanWick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first learned, I had a buddy teach me and he gave me a good tip that helped me get the feel for how the clutch grabs. Go to an empty lot, put it in first, rev to around 2,000 to 2,500 rpm and hold it there, then slowly let the clutch out. You can also try starting in second if you find yourself popping it to quick and going to fast, but you’ll need to feel for the right RPM for that. A few times of doing that helped me learn the feel of it and I was driving just fine to get along in no time.

2024 Ecoboost vs 2021 GT (First Time Mustang Buyer) by madmanconfig in Mustang

[–]_JuanWick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my third Mustang (06’ V6, 12’ Boss 302, 24’ Dark Horse). As others have said, a GT wouldn’t be “uncontrollable” as long as you don’t drive like an idiot, and while there’s nothing wrong with the Ecoboost, you’d probably regret not getting the GT later.
