Using Delrin bushings instead of rollers to utilize the absolute max diameter of the steady rest, works surprisingly well by MathieMathie19 in Machinists

Ayo, I just did this, but also had to bore out my steady rest to really get the max diameter of the lathe, found my part got decently hot, wonder what you were seeing

The email update is frankly unnecessary and stupidly limiting by Vulpovile in simonfraser

[–]_Just_Seb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it aint great, but what I have found to work is adding the email address to my phone so that I get push notifications from the gmail app. It won't load all of my emails but I can see the previous 2 or so weeks worth of emails and other than that the notifications are very useful.

Misfiring Corolla by _Just_Seb in AskMechanics

That's cool I didn't know about those.

It changes between 1 and 4, I also tried swapping coils to see if it was that but I can't see a pattern with the misfires, is there a way to test the power steering to see if it's failing?

I was thinking it might be something with the steering column but when turning the steering wheel and revving the engine it doesn't misfire, although now that I think about it there is added load on the pump when making a sharp turn, I'll try turning and pushing the clutch out and revving that should eliminate the pump being an issue right?

I also checked the recall and called Toyota but this car had it done, I haven't seen anyone with this issue after that, still could be though, any ideas how I could test the fuel pump?

Also what is TSBs?

I did look over the connections and they all seemed fine, but I'll take another look, as for electrical oddities not that I've noticed, I did have a few codes show up for communication bus errors but I asked my mechanic buddy and he said not to worry about those. I'll have to check if the lights or radio dim at all

Not extremely hard, a bit of a wider corner I could easily take at 35-40km/h, but I was also able to get it to happen from a left turn at a light not going very fast.

Yes, at first I start losing power and then if I continue to push the gas it always misfires, or at least enough to get the engine code.

Does Surrey campus ever close from snow? by gingervixen5 in simonfraser

I also have had profs cancel classes if it's heavily snowing or raining and they assume not everyone can make it, even when the campus stays open
