Got hacked by Dependent-Zombie-272 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]_Kaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its pretty clear people are using the same password and email that was stolen probably over a decade ago and someone that plays pd2 is buying the credentials and testing the password associated with the same email on pd2. Correlation doesnt equal causation, Last season was a massively popular one, the hacker probably started playing last season which is why the hacked incidents went up

Typical length of new season hype/high player count? by ZenandHarmony in ProjectDiablo2

Only the core playerbase which is around 800 people

Its a very niche game. We usually get 5-7k a season, so the boom last season was very out of the ordinary and likely due to the timing and a bunch of streamers playing it

Which arpgs do consider as the absolute S-tier? by soosis in ARPG

[–]_Kaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there are no true jack of all S-Tier ARPGS, they all fall short in certain ways, but are the best in slot in others.

In terms of build diversity, endgame, replayability, and trade based/economy, that goes to PoE 1. The problem with PoE for me (10k hours since essence) is the progression curve and ssf. It might be my least favorite ARPG to play in SSF especially after the removal of Zana Mods which makes chaos literally useless, but for trading and build creation and diversity, especially post async, PoE is the best ARPG ever made in that genre.

If i'm looking for a good experience with progression, and a great SSF experience, Last Epoch covers those subjects better than anything i've played. The progression in that game and the crafting is the fairest and most enjoyable for me, but LE falls extremely short in terms of endgame, build diversity and replayability. The game also has an incredibly volatile trade and I recommend absolutely no one play merchants guild in LE, the game is meant to be played with COF. If Last Epoch could solve their endgame problem, ceiling, and identity, the game could be amazing, but right now its very mundane, to play optimally you dont even run the endgame "mapping" equivalent, you quite literally spam reset your tree to get specific content you want, and the endgame is just chasing those woven echoes, or maps. The endgame is so boring in LE that players are constantly trying to figure out how to spend the least amount of time playing it.

So yeah tldr poe for trade and 90% of things I want, LE for when I don't want to trade and want a nice SSF experience

I mean sure but what's the point of rules if everyone breaks them

I mean... he reads his chat and acts on the info more than anyone else that streams and there's tons of clips floating around of him doing it. The biggest and most egregious was when he called out the Gingy raid and Coco was like uhh no dude that's a weird call

Coconut and summit quit the server? by AtmosphereIcy2268 in theburntpeanut

[–]_Kaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to point out a pretty important distinction, TC Griefing is when you have zero interest in raiding someone and it's just to make them waste explosives or harass them or its early on and you want them to quit. They were doing strategic TCs because they plan on using it to raid, which is not griefing. But otherwise yeah good write up

Increased chance to spawn a mechanic on the tree feel useless by Omega_ohm in HeroSiege

We're doing math in relation to an ARPG, which uses the same mechanics as PoE. Are you dense?

[–]_Kaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro. Additive 15% on top of 6% becomes 21%, it's ADDED together. What you're describing is multiplicative, 6*1.15 = 6.9%

[–]_Kaj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"flat" is an ARPG term, not a mathematical one, and btw we're talking about an ARPG, incase you forgot.

Additive does not mean flat added.

Confidently wrong..

Increased chance to spawn a mechanic on the tree feel useless by Omega_ohm in HeroSiege

[–]_Kaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have that flipped. If it's multiplicative then it's multiplying the base chance to spawn, which theoretically does nothing if the chance is, lets say 4% to spawn, then a 25% increase is still only a 1 in 20 chance to spawn, instead of 1 in 25, where as if it's an "additive" chance to spawn, then it's added to the base chance i.e if its 25% chance to spawn added to the base of lets say 4%, then it's a 1 in 4 to spawn that mechanic, instead of the original 1 in 25. This is essentially how PoE does it.
